At least you sent one but giving you a shoutout on national tv, a nice consolation. Lets talk about the fact that mothers day is tomorrow and beyonce and her mama Tina Knowleslawson have worked very closely together for many, many years. Now theyre partnering to help those in the communities who might be most vulnerable to coronavirus. Theyre calling this campaign, i did my part, and theyre going to be allowing for the administration of 1,000 free tests for coronavirus. Theyre giving away personal protection equipment, grocery gift cards, essential vitamins, household supplies, very, very cool. And theyre really hoping to target those in the communities who might not know how dangerous this is and how much of a concern this is. So theyre hoping to help the africanamerican and latino communities in the houston area, their hometown. And theyve already challenged some other celebrities. So tyler perry is reportedly going to bring a Similar Campaign to his city of atlanta. We know that Magic Johnson is talking about bringing it to detroit, and Octavia Spencer will be bringing it to mississippi. So some good work there. Lets talk about mother mommy daughter duo. So cute. You have to see this video. Okay, so one of our favorites, Sandra Bullock, and a rare appearance by her sweet daughter laila. Now, Sandra Bullock has really wanted to do something. They both appeared on the red table talk on fridays episode and they wanted to personally thank a nurse manager who works at a hospital in their community. Her name is april buencamino. You mentioned i saw it while on the couch a couple times. It was great. You mentioned your fellow dancing pros will be dancing with you. How have you guys been rehearsing to get ready for this . We have i mean, it was very unusual. We were on like a virtual skype zoom call all day tuning in and out, kind of trying to frame off the shots. You know, our industry is adapting like a lot of folks out there working from home, and it was really, really fun actually. Well, val and jenna, thank you so much for being with us this morning. Im excited personally to watch the singalong. Yes. A lot of magic coming sunday. Val, hope no more stubbed toes for you, take it easy. Thanks. Thank you both. We turn to our cover story. As zoom has grown in popularity and we just heard val talking about that, a problematic trend known as zoombombing has emerged and abcs Kyra Phillips is on that story. Take a look. Reporter reverend joe amico was celebrating easter month in april by opening up his sunday sermons on zoom until it was interrupted by video of a kkk cross burning. I heard my intern say, were being bombed. Reporter the salem, massachusetts, Church Service was actually being zoombombed. The new form of harassment popping up in pandemic times where intruders hijack video calls. Many of these attacks involving hate speech and racist images. [ bleep ], man. Were getting bombed. Its unfortunate that folks would do that kind of thing because it is hurtful. It is hateful. Reporter zoombombing, as it has now been defined, is a phenomenon so alarming the fbi issued this warning on april 1st nationwide after the fbis Boston Division warned about the problem back in march. According to the fbi statement, the fbi has received multiple reports of conferences being disrupted by pornographic and or hate images and threatening language. As individuals continue the transition to online lessons and meetings, the fbi recommends exercising Due Diligence and caution in your cybersecurity efforts. These meeting disruptions are devastating. Theyre appalling. Reporter so now zoom forced to face hate head on telling abc news they are now working with the fbi and other Law Enforcement to help bring those online predators to justice. We have worked with them to ensure that as needed we can cooperate. Reporter pelosi also telling us zoom has made several of its security features the standard. Default settings for all calls including requiring a password for users to join a meeting. They have also added a new reporting feature so an intruder can be identified immediately. And, dan, a lot of these online intruders are specifically targeting people of color. They search for new zoom meetings that involve leaders of organizations and people who gather around Racial Justice issues. These zoom hijackers actually track them on platforms like facebook and twitter, and they develop strategies to go in and zoombomb. And a bit of news this morning, the new York State Attorney general announcing that as part of a settlement, zoom would do more to crack down on zoombombing to prevent these often racist attacks. Dan . Im glad to hear more is being done. Hope it works. Kyra, thank you very much. Lets switch gears. Its time for the weather. It is it has been described as march in may this weekend and as a mothers day gift to Rob Marcianos wife, we have put him outside to suffer a little bit and there he is. Reporter yes. Yeah, and not near my home so shes happy about that. Were at Harbor Island park which is in and beautiful strong may sun across this leafed out maple tree blowing in a 40mileanhour wind. Its 34 degrees. Thats a windchill of 20. Numbers in new york versus fairbanks, alaska, its warmer in alaska, the middle of alaska where its near 50 degrees, the sun hasnt even come up yet. Its near 50. The dichotomy were looking at. Lets look at in between wisconsin, ashland, wisconsin, a little bit of icicles on the lake off lake superior, so its good morning. Waking up to some cooler weather. You may feel it. A little bit of fog at the coast. And looking at temperatures today, as much as 15 degrees cooler than we were yesterday in our inland valleys. Cooldown continues inland for mothers day. Looking at a few scattered showers with breezy winds come monday into tuesday. 70s and 80s today from around the bay to our inland valleys but only in the upper 50s at the shore line. Partly cloudy there and looking at the now to deals steals. You need Clever Solutions to everyday problems and Small Businesses need relief during these tough times. So tory johnson is tackling both for us this morning. Tory, great to see you as always. Tell us about the deals. Reporter we got some good ones, whit. First up a favorite, bombas. This was a shark tank favorite but more importantly a gma favorite because of just the performance of their socks. They are phenomenal socks designed to look, feel and perform better, and they do just that. But perhaps even more importantly is their one for one mission. For every pair bought one is donated to somebody in need. More than 30 million pairs donated to the homeless in the united states. In fact, socks are the number one requested clothing item in shelters. So youve got a chance to help and also feel good. Weve got both singles and packs, 50 off today so the deal ranges from 6 to 36. Another favorite, yummie shapewear. This is comfortable everyday shapewear that hugs rather than squeezes so you can actually breathe when wearing it. Seamless leggings, sports bras, bralettes. Kind of a big assortment. Size inclusive which i really like about this brand. Extra small to 3x. Everything is slashed in half so our prices today range from 9 to 24. A fun one too, spongelle, a small los angeles business that has seen its own business hurt because its retail and spa partners have closed. So its a chance to buy their made in america products, all in one beauty treatments, their body washed infused buffers are their biggest seller. We have options for men, we have lotions, we have so many Different Things and this just kind of elevates the everyday shower or bath experience, so treat yourself. Everything is slashed in half. So todays prices from spongelle are 8 to 12. 50 and from this company free shipping, which we always love. Another great small business, it is called honey house naturals. Instead of calling them employees, they refer to their team as worker bees. They have 11 of those worker bees in Washington State where they make all of their products there. Natural ecofriendly products that moisturize and mend dry skin, so many favorites. The foot bar is one of my favorites, but everything from this company is really terrific because each ingredient is molecularly small enough to get inside the skin, and then the beeswax coats the skin to enable those ingredients to do their thick. Everything is slashed in half. We have a beautiful assortment that ranges from 4 to 15. Vinglace. Small, small team. Four people in houston, texas. They make two great products. Their portable on the go vacuum sealed insulator. You put a chilled bottle of wine or champagne in there and it will keep it cold for hours. We have their great tumblers with the spillproof lids that will keep beverages cold. Normally they are 35 to 100. Today theyre slashed in half and start at 17. 25. And then if youre going to enjoy that wine, purewine has a solution for you. This is from a small team in grapevine, texas. Their wines that will remove individual glasses that will remove the histamines and sulfites in your wines so that you can feel better after consuming. These are all slashed in half so they range from 5 to 10 per set. All right, tory, thank you so much. We appreciate it. Of course, we partnered with all these companies and their deals as well. You can get them on our website, goodmorningamerica. Com, and if youre eager for more savings, tory and sam champion are cohosting retail rescue tonight with great deals on many more products from different businesses. You can tune in this evening at 7 00 p. M. On abc newslive. Dan and eva, back to you. Eva, i know, is already listing out all the things she wants to grab. I want the wine cooler. Yes, i was just going to say, whit, it will be not surprising to hear that she wants the wine the champagne cooler. That will tell you everything you need to know about evas pandemic plan. And the hangover preventer. Yeah, and the hangover preventer. All right, whit, thank you very much. It is and this is breaking news its ultimate muffin week here and our quarantesters are back. Theyve been testing these treats and sharing their baking questions all week and today its all about the perfect muffin for mothers day. Joining us today is youtube cooking star Rosanna Pansino<\/a> with her cinnamon apple crisp muffins. Lets see how she made them. Take a look. On the menu today, an apple and cinnamon muffin. Step one, whisk your dry ingredients together. Once well mixed we will add our wet ingredients and the milk, oil and one full egg. Next up, the apples. We are going to peel, core and chop. Once chopped you fold them into the muffin batter. Now were going to scoop them into a cupcake tray and were going to fill them twothirds full. Over here youre going to add your sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon to a medium bowl and with the fork, mix it up. Sprinkle the crumble on and put them in the oven. Oh, my gosh, look how cute these are. Mmmm. Theyre delicious. And rosanna joins us live. Welcome. Great job. We got the muffins in front of us. Eva and i are fighting about who gets to taste them first. But let me ask you this question. We want to ask you a question from one of the quarantesters. Its from jolene and chris. Take a look. These muffins are terrific. Theyre super. The topping is great and my mom is a big fan of your recipe. But we dont know what we did wrong. As you can see, theres like a hole in the middle and it collapsed. Do you know what we can do . Oh, no. I feel so terrible. Okay, so this happens for a couple of reasons. One, overmixing. So when you overmix a batter, and this batter, this recipe is very thick, so people tend to want to keep mixing it to make it thinner like maybe a cake batter, but you just want to leave it thick. You dont want to overmix. It gets too much air in there and then when they bake in the oven, theyre just expanding a little bit too much and then cool quickly and it concaves right in the middle making a hole or if your oven is too hot, every oven is a little different, so it can rise a little too high and, again, you get that concave kind of hole in the middle. They still taste good. Good vision, though. Dont mix too much. Yes, they do. I can attest to that. They taste great and well be right back. Good morning, everyone. Im liz kreutz.
