We want to begin with the brand new numbers overnight. More than 3,200 confirmed cases in the bay area and Santa Cruz County with 86 deaths. Sonoma county is reporting five new cases, pushing the total to at least 105. Santa clara county continues to be the hardest hit with more than 1,000. San francisco and san mateo counties are closing in on 500. To the north, mendecino county reports four confirmed cases now. Lake county still reports no positive cases and even further north, humble county is reporting at least 40 positive cases from the virus. The big headline, as you begin your weekend with new shelterinplace guidelines, the cdc is now recommending you wear cloth masks or facial coverings when going outside to wrk orn9c mask, but handmade cloth coverings or ban dandas. Try a tshirt or Something Like experiment for comfort and fit but also how porous. We tried to spray through different materials from a thick to thin scarf, towel and a thin tshirt. The thinner the material, the online, etsy and amazon, the choices are endless, from fashionable to high tech. This one boasts breathability and filtered technology but dr. Reporter the county is launching a massive education effort to reach more of the unhoused, soon it will bring on mobile testing stations outside every encampment, an opportunity to screen more people than divert or quarantine as needed. Mayor gavin newsom announced help for the homeless was announced as a top priority. If left unaddressed, we allow our most vulnerable residents in the state of california to be exposed to this virus. Reporter already Santa Clara County has opened a temporary site at the fairgrounds for 60 people. 75 beds at parkside home have been set up. More than 100 trailers from the state were delivered to the south bay and will be used to shelter homeless and unstably housed residents.
