expenses plus $2.7 million. >> officials say the state will lease 177 beds. that's almost half the beds in the hospital. they will dedicate certain floors to the coronavirus patients. the community had been very worried about losing this hospital wondering where people who needed care would go for help, especially as this pandemic hit. so, there is some relief that the state is using seton. they still have to move in the medical equipment and train the staff, so they've got a little work to do. so, no word on when the state is going to be moving in here, but a big relief for this community. live in daly city, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> thank you, amy. so, now, we want to look at the cases in the bay area by county. there are now 483 total. marin county reported ten new confirmed cases last night and that is the largest single day increase since the first case was reported there on march 4th. santa clara county continues to report new cases. 14 in the last day bringing their total to 189. six people have died in that county. san francisco also announced 19 new cases bringing the total to 70. the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to nine at the burlingame facility. people who live there are staying in their rooms. county health officials and the cdc visited the home to launch an investigation. in san francisco, officials are working to find safe places to house people who are experiencing homelessness amid this pandemic. the city's department of human service is working to rent 3,500 hotel rooms in the next several weeks. the agency moved four homeless people who have been tested for coronavirus into hotels where they can be isolated from others. >> this will be a occurrence we der becausehey n't lease more hotel rooms to house first responders and medical workers to reduce their risk of spreading coronavirus. in the south bay, first responders pledge to answering calls for help. right now a reserve officer is recovering after testing positive for covid-19 and he was at a group with other reserve officers and all are self-isolating now for several or more days. san jose police chief says that new policies will protect ahead. good morning, mike. >> good morning, kumasi. let's talk about temperatures when you step out. little bit cooler this morning. 40 in castro valley and 42 in fremont and we have a 50 in oakland for one of the warmer spots. our neighborhoods in the mid to upper 40s and a 50 in san francisco and everybody else pretty much in the low to mid-40s until you see the mid and upper 30s in the north bay. let's take a look at what is going on. if you have to commute, a look at the bay bridge. folks traveling across that. other than isolated afternoon shower, looks like it will be pretty easy to get around. there is a slight chance of a little bit of fog out there this morning but really haven't seen much yet. for the south bay, we're in the 40s through 9:00 and wake up to more sunshine than yesterday and the sun increase and stray shower and we'll hit the mid-60s this afternoon. up in the east bay valleys in the 40s through at least 9:00. mostly sunny this afternoon and mid-60s. and our last stop will be the peninsula for this go around we're in the 40s through 9:00. 56 at 11:00. and you can see increasing clouds as the sun warms this ground that is full of moisture right now and that's what is going to help create the possibility of a stray shower, even as far north as the peninsula. all right. so, pretty quiet here. let's get over to jobina. she's upstairs as we continue our social distancing. she'll take a look more at the commute. >> good morning, everyone. so, i am continuing to track the chp incident report and i am not seeing anything coming in right now, which is all good news. so, clear conditions if you do have to go to work this morning. i'm hoping that is only for people who have essential roles. i want to get to some new information we learned about, well, i'll start here with a live look at the san mateo bridge for everyone. you can see the clear conditions outside. this new information now from marin transit. it will offer free rides starting today for the duration of the shelter in place. this only applies to rides through the marin transit connect service, which caters to seniors and people with disabilities. it provides curb-to-curb transportation in accessible vans. marin transit says it will help those who rely on public transit and make trips to a doctor's office or even a grocery store. so, this is really good still very low. the snow the last several days have helped our snow pack 48% of average and we'll get a little bit of light snow and it won't help the snow pack today. you can see it billowing up some snow showers as we head into the afternoon hours. 41 in tahoe and 46 in yosemite and sacramento, fresno, los angeles and san diego and increase the snow pack next week. here's a look at my seven-day forecast for tahoe and light to moderate snow for monday into tuesday. coronavirus headlines from the east bay. the alameda county ordered to close because it. tesla has agreed to suspend car production at its fremont plant after initially declining to do so. more than 300 inmates are being released early because of coronavirus concerns. and the city of oakland is asking business owners impacted by the coronavirus shutdown to contact them for potential financial help. oakland has heard from thousands of businesses just this week. forcing businesses of all kinds to make adjustments and that includes the funeral industry. chapel of the chimes in hayward is still performing burials and memorials, but only ten people can attend. >> every single family we're serving, we're offering live webcasting at no cost for their funeral service so that though ten people can only be in the chapel, anybody else in the world, anybody else in the country can watch that funeral service and be present from home. >> staffers are still meeting with families, take a virtual tour of the facility on the cemetery's website. now to a story you'll only see on 7. just before one neighborhood restaurant in the north bay had to close, a customer left a $2,000 tip. abc 7 news reporter lauren martinez showed how his generosity made a big impact. >> it has been only a couple days, but i feel so lost. >> reporter: christy served at buckeye for ten years. due to shelter in place over the coronavirus, they closed their bar and dining room monday. last friday robert godard, a regular customer left a $2,000 tip. >> i didn't believe it and then went back to him at the table and said, is this correct? and he goes, yeah, i want to leave that for the staff. >> he goes, look and he showed me the tab and i was like, there's hope. >> reporter: godard said things were changing so quickly around covid-19 it was a spur of the moment decision. >> it was very spontaneous. i just decided to do it. it was my way of sort of plugging us. >> reporter: the tip was split between 25 staff members and included dishwashers, servers and bussers. livelihoods are now drastically different. >> it's pretty scary. i'm already thinking like should i go into a different field because i might not have a job. >> reporter: like many other restaurants, they are offering to-go services and running a coffee kiosk in their parking lot. >> people want to make sure their favorite places will be around. we need to support now. >> reporter: in mill valley, lauren martinez, abc 7 news. >> mike, i like to see that. you know, just someone doing what they can. and maybe we can't all give $2,000, but i'm sure that something each of us can do whether it's just keep ordering coffee. whatever it is. >> we talked about that in the studio. you're going to keep ordering starbucks just to keep them busy. >> we can all do our part. >> we all come together and do our part, it sure adds up quickly. >> you see how much it meant to them. >> a lot of people are so scared about their futures with everything being shut down. get out there and do what you can. we appreciate it. let's talk more about what will happen over the next seven days. warmer sunline and isolated rain today. showers and cooler weather for monday, tuesday and wednesday. here's a look at our high temperatures today. we'll start with the remember waest inlaw warmest inland. and 59 to 61 along the coast. tonight, it's going to be cool temperatures in the upper 30s to mid-40s. a little bit more fog than we have this morning especially in the north bay and the east bay. so, here's a look at just a few showers right off the coast down there in the monterey bay. but we're watching all these areas of low pressure. this low is going to slide to the south and that will open the door for this low coming out of the gulf of alaska to move towards us and that area of low pressure over nevada will bring us one more chance of a scattered shower tomorrow before that low comes in and brings us heavy rain. you can see the scattered showers right there, isolated. how about that. as we head through saturday, we're looking at one or two showers in the same areas and that's about it. then sunday you can see the rain starting to come up in the afternoon hours. so, if you want to get outside and shake off that cabin fever, make sure you do it sunday morning. all right, you can see temperatures dropping into the 50s as we turn to more showers and even some thunderstorms possible tuesday and wednesday. >> thanks, mike. netflix is making changes since so many people are streaming content right now and new features on microsoft teams. here's this morning's techbytes. >> netflix and its streaming slow down. with so many people at home because of the coronavirus, cutting it video quality across europe for the next month to reduce the strain on internet service providers. netflix says it won't significantly affect video and will cut data use by 25%. in microsoft teams is offering several new features designed to improve remote meetings now that so many people are working from home, one is realtime noise suppression which makes any conference call more pleasant. willie nelson was part of an online concert streamed live last night. took the place of an annual show that had to be canceled because of the coronavirus. the show other influencers to tell young adults to stay home. a lot have ignored the advice to distance, you remember this video from florida. a lot thing the coronavirus will not have a personal impact on as we head into wednesday, more showers are going to develop as an area of low pressure is going to slide down and sit, once again, just off the shore and hurl moisture at us. so, lesser amounts in
