We dont know where it is. Thats a problem. Thats a failure in testing. Reporter Health Officials across the country reporting a shortage of tests despite promises from the federal government. Over a million tests are out. Thanks to the diligent work of the cdc and hhs. When people need a test, they can get a test. Reporter now states are claiming those promises are empty. We were promised that tests would be available, a million of them, by the end of the week. They are still nowhere to be found. Reporter meanwhile, new concerns that even if labs do have the tests, they dont necessarily have the proper materials to prepare the samples. The test kits dont include all the components to test. Thats the disconnect. Reporter according to the cdc, the test is a simple nose swab that has already been done on nearly 7,000 people, and that number is expected to jump to nearly 500,000 this week. The availability of testing in the last two days is getting us where we need to be.
