group of moms is asking for supporters to join them in a west oakland home tomorrow morning as they face eviction by the end of the week. good evening. thank you for joining us. >> a judge ordered the women out of the west oakland home on friday. a real estate agent is offering to help with the move. >> they asked for supporters to show up at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow and each day this week. abc 7 news reporter kate larsson hs that story from oakland. >> i mean they're trying to prove a point at this point. >> and shawna silva thinks her neighbors squatting in this house are making a good point. >> i think the laid quiz are just trying to bring a brighter scope of the housing crisis. >> on november 18th, she moved in this house an magnolia street with her children and other women. >> i don't agree with this breaking into somebody's property. but i believe they should ab able to stay. >> southern california investment firm disagrees. they brought the house with plans to flip the property and only learned about the uninvited guests when the story hit the news. then on friday a judge ruled the women had five business days to leave the house. they were not surprised by the ruling but would not leave the property. >> ths is what we're up against. a corporation that would put mothers and children out on to the street. thinking that it is the moral and right thing to do. >> i spoke to sergeant ray kelly who says they will be enforcing the eviction order. but he says they're very concerned about the safety and well-being of the mothers and, of course, their children and also his deputies who he is worried could be met with a a lot of resistance or a large protest this week n a statement, the sheriff's office says we reached out to moms for housing to provide resources and to come to a nonconfrontational resolution. we'll continue to try to hope they vacate as the home as ordered by the court. >> we prefer if if they left peacefully. >> a spokesperson for wedge wood has evening. so on the storm impact scale, at the level one light system here for the second half of the monday with scattered showers, not only this storm, we're tracking a stronger torm that arrives in doppler 7. >> in oakland, a man is recovering after he was shot and robbed of his laptop on friday. it comes only weeks after another man died during the theft of his laptop at a starbucks. abc 7 news reporter is in oakland with details. >> open doort and immediately heard somebody screaming. somebody help me. i don't want to die like this. >> oakland resident heard those cries for help after hearing a single gunshot on friday night. he found a man inside this bus shelter. he had been robbed and shot in the hip. he is a former paramedic and helped the man until first responders arrived. >> a 2012 mack book pro silver. >> he was saying he was on his laptop waiting for the bus, somebody came up in a mask asked him for his laptop and either before he could comply or i'm not sure if he refused, they shot him. >> the customer come running in here. somebody just got shot. >> he works at stanford market across the street. he says the victim is one of his customers. >> i think music, beats, i think the laptop. so it's just tragedy what happened to him. it's wrong. >> it's the second stolen laptop shest in oakland that turned violent in recent weeks. a man was killed at starbucks trying to get his laptop back. two suspects were arrested for the crime. >> everyone should be concerned about their safety. >> he is pushing for more police officers to be hired. ? >> if we don't have enough officers, we won't have enough offers doing the investigations. >> the victim from friday's laptop theft is recovering in the hospital. cornell bernard, abc 7 news. a light rail train hit and killed a man early this morning at a bus stop in visitation valley. police say the train was stopped at a light and the man was sitting on the device that connects two train cars. he fell under the second train when it began moving again. the mta operator didn't know the train struck the man. another operator reported a body on the tracks. >> in the east bay, hayward police are investigating the city's first homicide of the year. it happened just before 5:30 this morning. officers say they found a man with gunshot wound. paramed paramedic responded but the man was declared dead he is scene. the federal emergency management agency wants pacific gas and electric to cover the cost of the government's response to the wildfire e. fires of 2015, 2017, and 2018. but if pg & e cannot pay the agency told the "san francisco chronicle," that it would bill the victims for the nearly four billion. that money could come out of the 13 $1/2.5 billion settlement they reached with the victims. fema doesn't want to have to do that but is compelled to do so. a judge is expected to consider the issue next month. abc 7 news is committed to building a better bay area. and one place we have been looking at is the trail in santa rosa. there say homeless cam tlp that stretches for about a mile. there may be a renewed urgency to find shelter for the people living there. overnight, there was a fire at the encampment. this is the third fire there in two months. it was out within 0 minutes and no one was hurt. just a couple weeks ago a propane tank exploded along the trail. >> still ahead on arsonist hit one home twice over last four days. >> the last incident resulted in a burned car. abc 7 news reporter spoke to the victim and has the story. st. >> at 1:00 a.m. on saturday, an explosion followed by flames from this car woke up many in this neighborhood. >> oh, gosh. i heard -- i was in bed. i heard the big boom. and i looked out the window and i saw the flames. >> ran over. there jumped the fence and tried to wake the people up. >> inside the home was bob kennedy, who says saturday's incident was the second arson attempt to his property in the last week. >> he probably be back. and he did. that morning at 1:00, he threw another one. same mo. same material. hit the garage door came down on the concrete and burst under the car. >> three days prior kennedy found a suspicious device on his front porch. >> i realized it was a molotov cocktail. opened the lid and there is a rag and smelled of gas. so i went to my video recorder. >> several cameras are on his house caught a suspect throwing the device that landed on his roof. >> when you go for the roof, to me that's attempted homicide by arson. and i take it very seriously. >> in a statement to abc 7 news, the police department said in part, base ond surveillance video, the suspect appeared to be wearing a hooded sweatshirt or jacket, light colored pants, athletic shoes and a backpack. he was seen riding a mountain bicycle. while police search for the vehicle, he bought more cameras and is staying up wond whoerg is targeting him. >> you are sleeping at night? >> i'm sleeping close to the door where i tonight. we first told you about the story last night. the cyber dragons from the school of the arts say thieves broke into their shed and stole more than $10,000 worth of gear including a laptop with all of the code they had written. all of this just weeks before a competition. ever since then, they raised close to $13,000 on a gofundme page which is enough to replace what was stolen. the extra money will go towards finding a more secure place to work. >> the 49ers are now just one win away from the super bowl. they'll be taking on the green bay packers sunday in the nfc championship game. peninsula. so the picture outside tonight, lots of clouds out there from the exploratorium came. live look right now. gray skies on this sunday night. the cloud cover really slowly dropping our temperatures this evening. still in the 50s and a lot of spots. 51 in the city. it's 53 in oakland. not nearly as cold tonight as it was last night. and really overnight the numbers will be gradual to cool off with that cloud cover overhead. a lot of spots will hit in the mid 40s. but more wet weather comes tomorrow evening. on the storm impact scale, a level one light system here monday afternoon and evening with the scattered showers. rainfall less than a tenth of an inch and the winds between 10 and 25 miles per hour. so future weather, 5:00 a.m. in the morning. we see a fair amount of cloud cover first thing. midday, we'll continue that trend of partly sunny skies. in the evening, you can see by 5:00 p.m. monday evening, we're tracking that wet werather firs in the north bay. later in the evening, by 9:00, 10:00, the showers sinking in san francisco. and then in the early morning hours of tuesday, it is getting out of here. much it's a quick moving system. that's why the rainfall is very light in nature. so tomorrow partly sunny skies. a lot of cloud cover on our monday. 55 in the city tomorrow. 56 in oakland. the same in san jose. 55 in santa rosa and concord. we're tracking a stronger storm though in the days ahead. will we'll fast forward into thursday morning. this is when we see a level two moderate system swing through here. so on thursday morning, we're tracking steady rain, even some scattered downpours. rainfall pretty healthy with this storm system. about a half inch to an inch of rainfall and the winds do turn gusty. future weather wednesday night, mainly dry as we get into thursday, this is when we see the storm system moving in it from north to south. and thursday morning's commute does look wet and windy as this front moves through. all day thursday, it just looks like on and off rain. so thursday is certainly the wettest day we have for the upcoming week. look at the rainfall totals wednesday into thursday. pretty healthy out there. a lot of spots well over half an inch of rain. we see the downpours set up, we'll find more than an inch of rain. this is good news. we have not seen a soaking rain for quite some time. not only rain, snow in the sierra. winter storm watch goes into effect friday. we could find one to two feet. so travel is going to be tough. here's the seven day forecast. the next seven days, light showers in the afternoon and evening. tuesday's dry. there is that next storm wednesday into thursday. the worst of it looks to be thursday morning even though all day thursday looks to be wet oochlt storm coming
