Lets get to another big story this morning, a city in texas is coming to grips with a Deadly Church shooting as authorities search for a motive. A man with a rifle opened fire just before communion killing two parishioners before he was gunned down by church members. It was all caught on camera. Abcs jim ryan has the details. Reporter it was a typical livestream of the sunday service at west Freeway Church of christ outside ft. Worth. When suddenly as parishioners finished taking communion, a man in a large coat in the back gets up and aims a gun at a man nearby. Fatally wounding him and a second man who would later succumb to his injuries. Two of the volunteers on the parish Security Force then draw their weapons and take out the killer. This team responded quickly and within six seconds the shooting was over. Reporter worshippers scrambled for cover, some bolting for the exits. It was a sad thing that he had to come into the congregation and hurt people, and its a sad thing that we had to hurt him. Reporter the churchs pastor is stunned. We lost two great men today, but it could have been a lot worse. And im thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves. This really ramped up on friday when a group called Kataib Hezbollah fired missiles at an Iraqi Military base housing american troops. A u. S. Civilian contractor was killed. But the bigger issue here is whats going on behind the scenes because this group which attacked americans throughout the iraq war is widely seen as getting support from iranians. Abcs Elizabeth Mclaughlin says that this was kind of an american brushback to the iranian regime. This is really what the u. S. Likes to call a proportional response. The attacks that happened over the weekend were five what they call defensive strikes. They targeted weapons storage facilities, command and control locations, to send a warning that if you continue to attack these military bases and you continue to threaten u. S. And coalition interests, that the United States will respond. Of course iran saying that the u. S. Has violated iraqi sovereignty. Still, she says, nowhere near as serious as an attack on iranian soil. And still unclear how much iran may direct these groups in iraq itself.
