Reporter good morning, michael. You can tell the wind is absolutely ferocious. Weve had gusts of 50 Miles Per Hour here. Thats why this house is engulfed. There are firefighters inside. You can see them spraying it down from the inside. I want to show you why this is such a problem. This whole valley here, you can see those little lights. That is all fire and that wind is fueling it. It is absolutely ferocious and firefighters at this point dont know how many homes have caught fire even in this neighborhood. Wow reporter overnight fires erupting in california, north and south. At least 50,000 people ordered from their homes north of los angeles where firefighters relentlessly battled the tick fire which exploded again this morning. Highways on fire and neighborhoods scorched. Traffic in a gridlock overnight thursday as thick black smoke filled the sky. Panicked residents escaping with fires threatening to engulf roads. The fire torching homes like kindling. This fire is completely driven by the wind right now. Multiple aircraft pounding the flames with water from above and on the ground. Now to Northern California where the kincade fire has burned more than 16,000 acres in Sonoma County destroying structures and forcing evacuations. Yeah, just 5 contained right now of those 16,000 acres reportedly burning but firefighters should have a chance to get more of a handle on it today with the winds dying down and while that happens, officials are investigating the cause of the fire. Reportedly the states Largest Utility Company may be at the center of it. Overnight, new details on the possible origin of the kincade fire potentially sparking near a pg e transmission tower that broke minutes earlier. The fire has already destroyed dozens of structures and tens of thousands of acres. At least 2,000 people forced to evacuate. Look at the smoke smothering the mountains for miles. Emergency crews battling the fire in the sky and here on the ground. This time lapse video shows the moment the power goes out. Then shortly after a larger glow likely the fire that then quickly spreads. Possible power lines down in the area. Reporter pg e says they turned power off to nearly 30,000 customers in Sonoma County. However, the report states transmission lines in these areas remain energized, citing forecast weather conditions, particularly wind speeds. The ceo of pg e speaking out in a press conference. At around 9 20 last night we became aware of a transmission level outage in the area of the fire. This morning cal fire personnel on the site brought to his attention and then our attention what appears to be a broken jumper on one of our transmission towers. In a letter to her constituents hill, who is the first openly bisexual member of congress, denied the allegations, but admitted to a relationship with a woman on her Campaign Staff which she says was consensual. Harvey weinstein was with a group of friends having a night out in new york city at an event for emerging actors and artists and at one point a patron confronted him before she was escorted out and one comment made him uncomfortable as well. The moment a patron confronted accused sexual predator Harvey Weinstein. Im standing four feet from [ bleep ] rapist and nobody is going to say anything. Reporter weinstein seen here was sitting towards the back of the down time bar in new york city. Kelly bachman was one of the comediennes performing and describes the moment she first saw weinstein in the crowd. To me it was like looking at a shark, like shark eyed. He is currently facing charges of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and Sexual Misconduct for incidents involving two separate women. He has pleaded not guilty and has said any sexual encounters were consensual. A representative for Harvey Weinstein tells the Hollywood Reporter this scene was uncalled for, downright rude and an example of how due process today is being squashed by the public trying to take it away in the courtroom too. To me it felt like this is a monster from your nightmares. Ive literally had nightmares about Harvey Weinstein the same way that i have nightmares about it by stephen king or Freddy Krueger. And weinsteins Sexual Assault trial is expected to begin in january here in new york city. As for bachman, that comedian, she said she left that event early and tells us she was really wrestling with whether or not to Say Something when she was on stage because that was total improvisation but glad she spoke out. A lady has been in the water with her automobile, we dont know how long. Reporter this Surveillance Video shows the moment a womans car enters the water when she took a wrong turn at night. Ten hours later rob goodman was launching his kayak at a park in venice, florida when he spotted something in the water. I was probably about right here when i noticed the car because it was just becoming daylight. Reporter goodman says he could only see mart of a cars roof and flagged down a paddleboarder nearby and realized a woman was inside the car. We got about right about here when her hand came out the window. Reporter thats when instincts took over. I have to help this lady out of the car, okay . I dont want to you go into the water, okay . We did research, why would you do that . Vets really like aquatic therapy for dogs and cats because of the thermal effect. Their emotional revelations in that special are now seen in stark contrast to another new royal doc, this one about harrys dad. I love it. He drives me mad half the time. Reporter Prince Charles inside the duchy of cornwall airing last night in the uk and viewers immediately praising the prince for focusing on his work and not himself. Some calling it a lesson in being royal, and comparing it to how the duke and duchess opened up about life in their documentary. Well, i guess thank you for asking because not many people have asked if im okay. Reporter a welcome and touching insight for some but considered controversial by others. This morning were taking a look at how companies are paying you to learn on the job and there have been nearly 11,000 new apprenticeship programs created in the past few years and Rebecca Jarvis is here with the closer look. Good morning. Reporter hey, michael. Good to see you. These are becoming very popular. Apprenticeships are a great way to gain skills without having to take on debt for additional schooling or take a break from work, and many of these programs will even let you switch careers. Theyre an opportunity to learn while you earn. Apprenticeships, onthejob training that often leads to a higher salary. Any time im here, any time im in school sitting in class, i do get paid for that. Reporter caitlin greeen is a 25yearold soontobe mom currently working at siemens, usa, focusing on industrial machinery. The company introducing us to green who is enrolled in their integrated machining apprenticeship. They say entirely for the schooling, even your school supplies, books, anything you may need. They supply it for you. What we do is we have folks who join us, and they join us out of high school, or they may join us from another career. They enter the program in community college, take classes there. We pay for it. They work here. We pay them for that, and when they graduate, they have got this great entree to a job, and no debt. Ceo Barbara Humpton says the Company Started the program when they couldnt find people with the necessary training. We have 12,000 applicants but couldnt fill all the jobs with people with the right skills. Reporter for green, a former veterinary technician for a new career, it was a perfect fit. I applied and got it and so since then ive been reaching those goals between the family portion and schooling. Reporter according to the u. S. Department of labor, there are more than 23,000 registered apprentice programs across the nation. The average starting salary after an apprenticeship, 70,000. Plus, there are now programs for High School Students. Careerwise colorado lets High School Students split time between the classroom and the workplace while earning a paycheck. Im a 17yearold, but im able to work in this environment and be professional and add worth to this company and add worth to myself. Once upon a time everyone thought a College Degree was really the ticket to the American Dream and what im here to tell you is that there are so many pathways now. Reporter clearly some really great opportunities out there and if youre looking for the right place to find these programs the government has a website, its called apprenticeship. Gov. Go there and search finder listing section and enter the industry or company youre looking to work in and where youre going to live and it will show you great jobs with these programs available, michael. Like a win win situation. It really is. So what fields are expected to see the most growth . Some areas where were really seeing growth right now are in health care, in particular, health care support. So not just nurses but nurses assistants, personal care and service with wellness growing so much in this country, whether youre going to be a fitness trainer or a skin care specialist, thats an area, of course, people hear about computer and mathematical. Always an area we hear about, s. T. E. M. Jobs, another big area of growth. You talked about looking at where you want to live, and where you want to go. What areas are having the biggest increase . By the way, sometimes it might make sense to make a move for a job if it works for you and your family, orlando, biggest city of growth. Hang out at disney. Thats part of it. She has two boys with actor jason biggs, and she shares a lot of her life on instagram, and she recently had a social media aha moment with her 5yearold son sid. We were walking home and he stopped me an i said, you know, why are you so cute and, of course, he looks at me and said you can take a picture of me if you want and i so, no, i dont want to take a picture of you. I just want to see you. I want to have this moment with you and there was this sort of wounded look in his eyes as if, you know, what i said was i dont know somehow he was a contestant on the bachelorette and i wasnt giving him the final rose. I dont want my child to fe like i didnt see him i dont want him to ever feel hes not being heard. I see it on instagram all the time. Im seeing moms showing me look how good im parenting. Look at my kids. You know, we did this today. First day of school theres like a million placards saying so and so is off to school. We all do it. Reporter since posting the article, lots of moms have been weighing in, and while doing this interview, i realized i too am very guilty of capturing every moment rather than just living in the moment with my kids. You write in the piece, you say, its an addiction that we make few attempts to hide from our children. You really think its an addiction. I fully believe its an addiction, yes. I think its just like, you know, a cigarette. So what do we do about this . I think we have to put the phone down, take a breath. Look up. Great advice. Be in the moment. Ask yourself what am i getting from the photo that i wouldnt get by simply being in the moment and being present . Lara, we should always ask our kids if its okay to post these images because they will live on forever. Huge digital imprint for our children. The answer with my kids, always no. Younger kids. Were talking, like, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Theyre growing up in a culture where everything is posted. My youngest son, his first selfie was posted an hour after i gave birth and everyone is doing that because they want to share the pictures with the world but were giving our kids a skewed perception of reality. He doesnt know i put on b and mascara and hes not understanding there are a lot of filters these pictures go through, and the world isnt picture perfect. Its messy, and our kids need to know that so theyre comfortable when their life isnt so picture perfect. What are the risks here . You know, i notice they dont have any sense of privacy. There is no boundaries of what theyll share on all these social media platforms and theyre also obsessed with their posts getting likes. Its inexpensive to have a balloon is there they athere. Black balloons can turn into black bats. This is doublesided tape and cut them out of paper and fold the edges just like this so they can adhere. Thats thats the next one. Im like that doesnt look like a bat. Put the wings on both sides. If you want, you can add eyeballs for the bats. Some might not want to have eyeballs. Tie a string and now youre done. I like that. That was cool. Easy too. Okay. Pool noodles. I love them. You might have these from the summer lying around but they can turn into a not so itsy bitsy spider. Cut them in exact with an acto knife or scissors and take styrofoam balls and some black duct tape, if you have here it is right here. Start putting this tape together and when you end up at the end you get this pool noodle spider where youre wrapping the noodle. Find them at a craft star. Roll up your sleeves. I want you to take the bread as we butter it and put it in sugar and directly in a pan. Check this out, guys. What well do is brulee it ooh, listen to this. Thats not my hair. Good. We made the Boston Cream Pie filling. What i want you to do is take chopped candy and drop it into the filling. All the way, mixing. Put it inside and fill the inside of the bred with this Boston Cream Pie filling with leftover candy bars. I dont know what hou h leftover candy at halloween but if you do and the kids have it, fill the inside of the bread with this with the chocolate on top. Last but not least grab one. Take the tops, dip it right inside the chocolate just like this. Get that for the camera. They didnt see it. I love the savoriness. I got it on your hand. Set it on top and set it over here. You can take a little bit of licorice left over or put seven candies on one like lara did. Make the spiderwebs. We have a little sauce here that goes off to the side and you made mini cream pies. Its not supposed to be a family of spiders but another good idea. Theres caramel inside the kings hawaiian. Like a creme brulee. The best ive ever done. What youll do now, im doing nothing. Here we go, pop the candy inside our creme brulee stuffed kings hawaiian bread. Grab the pie filling and take the pumpkin pie filling and spread it over the top. This is just store bought pumpkin pie filling. With a little gelatin and cream and whipped it together. You do add it. If you want to use the canned pumpkin you can. Lets make it sweeter. Lets make it sweeter all the way. All right, lara. Put a little sugar on top for me, okay. Front row has hair like mine, watch out so here we go. What well do is brulee the top of this and see how it gets all caramelized. Lara, we wont leave you out. Take a top and dip it inside the royal frosting. This is your frosting. This one is a little mixed up. All the leftover candy, you can bring the kids in and build their own and at the end of the day however it turns out as long as youre with your family is what matters.
