Week and this is a true story shes been dating this guy, they went out on a sunday, he ghosted her by that sunday nights. We ended up in an oblate the other day driving by accident past his house and i was like girl lets get out. I mean how far do you go to be the ghostbusters . Do you just let it go or do you keep calling and say i want some answers . I would say if youre being ghosted you have to move on. [applause] if someone is interested in you they let you know. It is way more important that you make yourself available for the person who is psyched to be with you. You could shouldnt have to chase someone down to get another date. Tamron what about in the case of friendship . With whitney and tahira was really a situation where they know and they should have just talked to each other as friends. Im ted this is how i am feelin feeling. This is truly about truly hurt feelings and people not wanting to stay stuck in their anger and in this type of thing this is a political fallout, or right question mike this is nothing to do with a reason you can go someone is the front are toxic but here it seems you love each other and you just needed to talk through it with one another. Tamron i think its awesome that candace writes this blog, shes seven years pass but shes not speaking up and giving voice. Its a fascinating conversation. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. We really appreciate it. Up next we are transitioning to, its a tough topic but this woman is so brave i wrote her a note this morning saying thank you for your bravery. Up next we will meet a woman with terminal cancer, she is fighting to end her own life. She says it is on her terms and that people deserve to die with dignity. Her husband it does not agree with her. If they are both here and joining us next. [applause] shine for the rest of your life tamron hanna is a 45yearold wife, mother, and grandmother. In the face of a rare nterminal blood cancer diagnosis two years ago, and i decided to make an inconceivable difficult decision. She wants to die on her own terms. She says that when the pain of dying overtakes the joy of living, thats how she got to this point. Hannah will decide to end her life in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. We all know this is a controversial process, its called medical aid in dying. Our partners at People Magazine brought ushe story, you can read more of hannahs courageous journey in this weeks issue. Shes here with us today. Welcome hannah. Thank you. Tamron first off howre you feeling today . A little tired. A little overwhelmed. It was a long flight. Tamron youve been living with chronic pain in addition to the diagnosis . Where to the point you cant function most days. I have my good and my bad days. Probably the past six months have been more symptomatic where the pain is just a lot more than usual. Tamron your 43 you are diagnosed with . When i was 43 he was misdiagnosed. They thought i had lupus. It took about ten months to get the correct diagnosis. We were out first to mayo clinic and there was a doctor there that was able to help us find out what it really was. Tamron s once you are accurately diagnosed its been this twoyear progression of pain and obviously suffering. I know you were inspired by brittany mannar, britney is a woman who went to oregon so that she could in her words die with dignity through medical aid in dying and when you saw her story this resonated with how you feel now. It does because one i think it takes bravery to do what she said. She did it with dignity, which is how i wanted to be for me and my family. [applause] i think we use the patient because we dont want our families suffer or carry that burden and i know for me watching my kids and my husband look at me, its taken a lot of joy from them. Tamron i know you were in denial for a long time. A blood lead to the acceptance of this because again looking from the outside, you have this glow in your face and your eyes but only you know your body and the pain. That glow is gone. Thats not anything from me. I was in denial for quite a while. Definitely. I drowned myself in advocacy work. Tamron you wanted to get the laws changed . That and just working with blood Cancer Patients and raising the awareness. I really got involved with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and i wasnt imagining advocating for myself, i was imagining advocating for everybody else. It wasnt until i went to the doctor to my regular doctor and he said you are in denial. You are suffering and you are not even saying it and im going to send you to a psychiatrist because you need help. To accept what is happening to you. That was the moment of it is me. Nevada tamron again thats where you live, its not legal to take, to have death with dignity. I dont want to say take your own life because thats not the right way to phrase this. Its called death with dignity. Eight other states that do allow for it. People will wonder, are you a religious person . Very. I am religious, i believe in god, but i also believe that god doesnt want me to suffer this way. I believe he wants me to live an abundant life and deliver the best way that i can. [applause] my faith is strong. I go to church. I pray. I read. You know this is just a journey that i could tell you i never imagined that i would to be on. I finally came to the decision that i am going to be a voice while i still count for others that are you like me. Im going to try to look at this as positive as i can. [applause] tamron is there a day or a moment that you have in mind that you would follow through . Right now i am still fighting. Im not going to give up. [applause] originally when they first figured out of the correct diagnosis they told me five years. By the because i have become more symptomatic and there is other issues that have come into play now, one of my doctors is telling me maybe a year. But im not going to receive that because i have so much more life to live. Tamron so the doctor says one year, you say you are not going to receive that. You say i have so much more life to live. You want to live your life . Youre not putting an expiration on your journey . You are saying when the time comes you want to be able to make that decision. Yes i just want us to be able to have the option. All i ask when im advocating for this particular thing is just learning about it, educated yourself about it, and give yourself as the patients not joints. Some of us may or may not ever do it but at least if we have that option. When we come back and this husband gary, who does not agree with her decision. Well also talk to her about what she calls her four children. We will be right back. On the next tamron hall. With almost half a billion chewers, youtube or jackie is here how she billed her Global Beauty brand. Next Tamron Hall Tamron we are back with hannah who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her husband jerry is with us now. Terry you have known each other since you were teenagers. She was 13. Youve been married seven years so you saw Something Special back then and then you circled back a bit on the journey as husband and wife are seven years. You do not agree with medical aid and dying . Its a touchy subject. We try to break it down. First and foremost i support my wife with whatever decision she decides to make. [applause] i have to take my own selfishness and thoughts out of the way and think about what she wants. We are advocating to give people the choice did have the the t aid assisted dying. Me personally i wouldnt choose that route. I would let nature take its course no matter the suffering and what it may be. However, thats the option my wife chooses i support that. [applause] tamron hannah what if you told your kids must mark their in age from 21 through 24. What if you told them . One, i am sorry. Tamron why are you sorry . I feel like ive put a burden on my kids. And my husband. Its not anything i can control and its funny because just last night before we were going to go to sleep my husband says im tired of talking about you dyin dying. Its heartbreaking. Tamron what did you mean by that jerry . Weve been involved with multiple nonprofit organizations and at every turn its talking about terminal illness, death, and because we are at the face of this campaign right now, this advocacy that we are doing, for compassionate choices, its a constant reminder of what is to come. The type of cancer she has is incurable. Tamron you are not able to live and enjoy because you are talking about we are constantly indulged in tamron the possibility of the end. As i mentioned death and dignity is legal in eight states plus d. C. What progress have you seen in nevada, your home state . It went to carson cit we met with the governor, we met with so many people. I just feel nevada as a state isnt educated enough on the bill. I feel like its a lot more footwork i had. I tend to be a voice as long as i live and breathe. We dont go back in the session i believe [applause] tamron my thanks to hannah and jerry for being here, for flying into our studio today with all that she is going through. Thank you to People Magazine for bringing the story to us. Please pick up the latest issue on the new stand as hannah said this is about education, educating ourselves on what this means for so many people. Up next, the latest tam talk, yung pueblo is a sensation and youre going to see why right after the break diego perez is yung pueblo, he shared his powerful healing about growth through meditation in his latest book in word. Hes here today to give his latest tam talk. One thing i truly believe is that we can heal our minds from old behavioral and emotional patterns. One essential way to do this is by cultivating our selfawareness. Life is full of up of up and downs and unexpected situations. No matter how hard we may try it is impossible to completely control life. What we can do is reclaim our power by choosing the way that we decide to respond to life. Ultimately our power is being able to choose our actions. Because of lives natural ups and downs there will be moments where we experience mental tension. These are moments of inner turbulence where our minds become full of intense emotion that actually end up clouding our perception and our judgment. When we are feeling these intense emotions of anger, anxiety, stress, or sadness, this is when we make decisions that we later end up regretting. There are three things to remember when your mind is full of turbulence. Number one, do not trust the way that you see yourself. This is not the time to measure your progress. When the mind is full of turbulence, it is easy for her to also become full of doubt. But 2, do not create assumptions about others. Be aware of the mind will often grab uncertainties of information and spin stories around them that are not fully based in reality. You can always make your life easier by not jumping to conclusion. Finally, number three, wait until you feel better to make final decisions that have longterm effects. One of our most valuable tools in these moments is patients. We often forget that things eventually change. In time the turbulence will pass and the mind will again be calm and clear. It can be difficult to change her old behavior patterns when your mind is experiencing a turbulent emotion. With effort and selfawareness it becomes easier to choose a new direction and to live in a new way. Thank you. [applause] tamron yes yung pueblo, the greatest. By the way everyone is going on with a copy of his book, inward come up we will be right back tamron thank you so much to our friends and guests on the cyber hall. We will be right back.
