There was a woman driver and two adolescents in the back of the car presumably her children went to two separate hospitals. We also know those two kids in the car may owe their lives at this point to three Good Samaritans who pulled them from the burning wreckage. It remains a miracle mystery even now how the suv stopped rolling and caught fire at the bottom of a ravine and the driver was on top of the hill 80 feet above. As best we can tell as the vehicle was rolling she was ejected from the vehicle. She was conscious. She was able to talk to our paramedics on our helicopter. Definitely major. Reporter there were two kids in the car, presumably her children. One was unconscious. It appears that somebody rescued the kids from inside the burning vehicle but the chp is not saying who. Anytime you have children involved it brings a different level to the crash. Its a tough one. Witnesses say it all happened around 8 30 this morning when the suv rearended a car ahead of it, bounced off the center divide, crossed all lanes and tumbled into the ravine. It remained there for almost three hours based partly on worries there might be another person inside or perhaps beneath it. Only after confirming there were three victims and not four did a wrecking crew haul up the suv d take it away. By then the traffic jam extended two miles. And were going to be leading right into our afternoon commute anyway. I would anticipate anybody going 101 should expect delays.
