northbound 101 as you make yourn overturned pickup truck. so emergency crews are heading to the scene and this is going to cause traffic to slow down on northbound 101 as you make your way through south san francisco. depending on how long this is out here, you may want to consider 280 as an alternate drive. drive time westbound 80 highway 4 to the maze, 24 minutes. it's slow across the bay bridge with traffic backed up into the maze. >> thank you, frances. now to the latest in the gilroy garlic festival shooting. >> investigators are still trying to determine a motive. police say they have found a second gun in the gunman's car. it was the fbi says it's looking through the gunman's social media, emails and phone. the agency says it needs up to four more days to process the crime scene. today there are a few things going on in gilroy as that community continues to heal. two gatherings will offer support to those impacted. >> some of the survivors will also be returning to the festival grounds today. abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson is live in gilroy this morning. jobina. >> reporter: good morning, reggie and natasha. some people will be taking their first steps towards normalcy, getting their cars back today. th they've been inside the crime scene since the deadly shooting, as investigators continue to comb through the crime scene here. here is what you need to know if you need to pick up your car. lease of the vehicle. t only two lots will be accessed today. the first is in the volunteer lot on west 10th street. the second is the park side lot south of miller avenue. police can get to the lots via police escort from 9:00 a.m. until 6:45 today. there will be two community meetings, one at community solutions and the other at children's services, both at 6:00 p.m. the goal is to provide emotional support and community connections for people impacted by the garlic festival shooting in any way. the community has been dedicated to helping the community heal. we talked to a 6-year-old about the shoeing. he was there and this is what he told us about the shooter. >> that guy, that guy is freakin mean. d.nuhe slot a lot of things. a >> reporter: really terrible that that child had to witness that. officials have not yet confirmed when the festival grounds will be open to the public. for now, live in gilroy, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. only on abc 7 we spoke to the parents of 25-year-old trevor irby, one of the three victims who thaft layer lives during the garlic festival. terry and tammy williams flew in yesterday to bring their son's body home. the family was told trevor was hit at close range, the shooter was behind him. tammy tells us they took the first flight to the bay area they could find to identify their son at the morgue. >> so i had to wait for them to come to me with a picture of my son in the morgue to ask if it was him. how could somebody do that to somebody who never hurt a single soul. >> trevor's parents say he after four months of testimony. yesterday during closing arguments defense attorneys for derick almena and max harris says the defendants should be found not guilty because they had no idea the building was unsafe. happening today, governor gavin newsom will address wildfire preparedness in california. peak wildfire season begins next month and stretches to the fall. today the governor will tour fuel management project in the sierra foothills. newsom has been working to provide more firefighting resources. the state budget he signed last month invests about $1 billion in emergency preparedness. governor newsom has opened a potential political minefield with president trump, requiring candidates to release returns for the five most recent years to appear on the primary ballot. the move is aimed at president trump who has, of course, refused to release his returns. the counsel to the president says, quote, the state of california's attempt to circumvent the constitution will be answered in court. your voice, your vote. happening today, nht t of the second democratic debate will take place in detroit. ten candidates will try to convince voters they have what it takes to win the democratic nomination and beat president trump. many people will be watching for senator kamala harris and vice president joe biden, two top candidates in the polls. massachusetts senator else neighborhoods have no breeze at all. that's going to be one of the differences compared to yesterday. the lack of cloud cover early in the morning, so faster sunshine and not as strong a cool breeze coming off the bay. look at these temperatures, pretty much the same this morning, mid 50s out there. look by noon, already warmer than it was yesterday in many neighborhoods. 71 to 79. pretty close 101 just past 380, this pickup truck which was on its side has now been uprited. you can see the tow truck in front of it. fire crews at the scene. emergency crews there. the two right lanes have been blocked for some time. it's causing delays on north 101. traffic jammed from south bruno avenue towards south airport. also took out guard rails. not sure how long the two right lanes will be blocked. 680 to westbound 24 because of an earlier accident. >> thank you, frances. developing news in fairfield regarding the heartbreaking discovery of newborn babies found next to a dumpster. >> sadly one of those babies did not survive. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield live in fairfield with more information about the woman police say is the mother. amy. >> reporter: hi natasha. police found the mother about a five-minute walk away from where they found the babies. the newborns were found on the waisn pittm to a dumpsterehind when the officer arrived, he found the babies and jumped into action. >> both infants appeared to be in distress. the officer started lifesaving efforts with one of the infants and turned the care over to the fire department. that infant was subsequently transported to a local hospital. unfortunately the other infant was already deceased and died here on scene. there was nothing the officer or fire personnel could do. >> reporter: the baby who survived is in stable condition and the mom was taken to the hospital for treatment. keep in mind, california allows parents to safely hand over their babies within 72 hours of birth without any process the crime scene. meanwhile the community is just starting the healing process. abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson live in gilroy with how the community is coming together. jobina. >> reporter: natasha and reggie, some small steps forward from this tragedy will be taken today. cars have been trapped inside the crime scene since this diddley shooting on sunday. people will be escorted by police starting at 9:00 this morning to two parking lots only to pick up their vehicles. cars will be able to leave that area, but nothing else will be able to go from there. the first thing you need to know, there are just two lots here, volunteer lot on west 10th street and the second lot is the park side lot south of miller avenue. investigators want to make it clear access will not be granted to other parking lots or to the park itself, and that only vehicles will be released. for some, getting their cars back is the start of creating a snse of norm mall see. the community is committed to think it's important that the community knows who keyla is and how important she is for us. >> keyla salazar's family was at ace empower academy last night where a month ago they celebrated her eighth grade graduation. now the family is in mourning. >> a desperate wish it never happen. >> she was our motivation. and we're in pain that we lost her. >> families share thatinonvince her parents to buy her a puppy for her 14th birth day this sunday. the first victim identified was 6-year-old stephen romero from san jose. >> one of his cousins fought back tears as he talked about the loss. >> this isn't right, especially for such a little boy to pass away like this. does this -- does this really have to happen for the whole world to know that gun violence is very bad? >> two separate gofundme accounts for the romero family have now raised more than $148,000. the investigation into the shooting is uncovering new details about the gunman. the chronicle reports federal agents found reading material on white supremacy and radical islam on the shooter's home. they found and a gas mask of the police say the suspect planned the attack and apparently acted alone. photos and video from have been blocked with emergency crews there. the truck has been uprighted. you can see the tow truck at t scenewell. i'm hoping they'll clear this up. north 101 is heavy from sfo to the scene. you may want to consider 280. no delays at this point. but also drive times, it's saying it's adding about an eight-minute delay on this stretch. that could improve hopefully if they clear this accident. they were essentially debating last night is how far left is too far left? all the candidates talked about how critical it is to beat president trump in 2020. there are stark differences in what they think gi on. r deb highlighting the internal struggle for the direction of the party with moderate candidates challenging progressive leaders. >> it is with bad policies like medicare for all, free everything and impossible promises that will turn off independent voters and get trump re-elected. >> reporter: senators else and bernie sanders both with similar agendas and the highest numbers of the candidates on stage, not backing away from their ambitious ideas. >> i don't understand why anybody goes to all the trouble running for president of the united states just to talk about what we can't do and shouldn't o the debate, health care, particularly senator sanders' medicare for all plan. >> for senior citizens, it will finally include dental care, hearing aids and eyeglasses. >> you of a new study. it found that ingredients in e-cigarettes can cause inflammation. researchers at yale looked at eight vaping liquids for juul e-cigarettes, when heated they create acetyls. it can cause throat irritation and in extreme cases damage the lungs. juul says the study is flawed and creates, quote, a measurement of ex-pose your that would never be found in the real would. apple has
