Abc 7 news. Most notable part of this report is whats not in it. California senator Dianne Feinstein lashing out at the fbis report into the kavanaugh Sexual Assault allegations, calling that report incomplete and saying the white house is to blame. Good afternoon. Thanks for joins. Im larry beil. And im ama daetz. The white house said Senate Republicans are feeling vindicated today, saying the fbis latest background check found no corroborating evidence of the allegations made by Palo Alto College professor Christine Blasey ford. Well, the facts do not support the allegations levied at judge kavanaughs character. Instead, many of the fax actually support judge kavanaughs strong, unequivocal denial. The senate inched closer to a decision on the nomion for a faln tund lel as shamefuls by democrats. The report set thousand them packed the Hart Senate Office building today. Many were taken away by police. Hey hey, ho ho, kavanaugh has got to go kavanaughs fate is now in the hands of four senators, three republicans and one democrat. Republicans feel confident they have the votes after both Maines Susan Collins and arizonas jeff flake said the fbi investigation appears to have been very thorough. One of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaughs College Roommates at Yale University says he was not interviewed by the fbi. He came here to the abc 7 studios to share his experience with kavanaugh. Here is abc 7 news anchor jessica castro. James roche was one of Brett Kavanaughs College Roommates at Yale University in 1983. He dispute whats the Supreme Court nominee told a Senate Judicial Committee Last week. Roche says his strongest memory of kavanaugh his freshman year was his drinking. Brett stood out for his drinking. People drank a lot then. I drank aaiamountthen. The other drank a fair amount then. But bretts drinking was unusual. Roche was surprised to hear his former roommate testify he was a moderate drinker. I couldnt believe what i was hearing. I would be in that room and he would come down and he was slurring and he was yelling and making loud noises. Yeah, very drunk. Roche told abc 7 news he knew debbie ramirez, a fellow yale student who became the second woman to accuse kavanaugh of sexual misconduct. Roche says he believes her allegations. I believe debbie, because i cant imagine debbie lying. Its just not who she was at that time. And i dont think its who she is now. But roche points out he never personally saw kavanaugh become violent. No, i never saw him hit anybody. I never saw himat a woman. I think thats important to say out loud. I dont know that he did or he didnt, but i never saw that. What i saw was a person who drank a lot and when he drank a lot he started to behave in a belligerent way. And check out this banner that was hanging on Yerba Buena Island this morning. People driving into San Francisco saw the large sign that said we believe survivors, an obvious reference to the kavanaugh controversy. The sign was removed a short time later. Now lets head to abc 7 newts reporter chris nguyen who is live in palo alto where Community Reaction is very strong. Chris . Well, people on both sides are pretty upset with how all this played out. But here in palo alto, regardless of whatever happens with the vote, supporters of dr. Blasey ford says she will be forever considered a hero. As many of us await the outcome of the Brett Kavanaugh vote, some residents in palo alto, the hometown of Christine Blasey ford, say this is just the beginning of changes to come. No woman would come forward with this story and disrupt her entire life if it wasnt the truth and her civic duty. Across the country, more than 1700 law professors have signed a letter urging the senate to deny judge kavanaughs confirmation, saying he displayed a lack of judicil temperament during his hearing last week that would be disqualifying for the court. 21 are from santa claras school of law. Its dangerous in our judicial system, because someone coming in and watching that judge will always wonder whether revenge or vengeance or retaliation will be part of that judges thinking. With the fbi investigation now complete, some are now calling on the white house to release its directive to the agency so the public can know if the agents faced any restrictions when they started their investigation. Palo alto mayor liz ness, herself a survivor of Sexual Assault says this. It makes me wonder does the president really kinship with kavanaugh . Does he see something perhaps similar in their own backgrounds . Beyond a looming vote, a commitment from this community to ensure that all voices will be heard. The fight dpornts womens equality in this country, and getting more and more women in office is the way to do that. And tonight there is going to be a rally here at the intersection of El Camino Real and embarcadero road to support not only dr. Blasey ford, but also survivors of Sexual Assault. It starts at 00 tonight. Were live in palo alto, im chris nguyen, abc 7 news. Back to you. All right, chris, thank you. Dr. Christine blasey ford is on the new Time Magazine cover. City and county leaders including mayor london breed were at the Community Center this morning speaking on how their addressing chronic homelessness. One big help they say is a new law that creates conservatorship for people with Severe Mental Health and Substance Abuse disorders. Were not just trying to force someone into a situation. This is about helping people get healthy and stabilized. The law makes it easier for judges to allow a guardian or protector to make decisions foro making resns therent corip nesr peop wg addiction. The law requires Government Agencies to provide adequate housing and support services, already in short supply. One main reason is there arent enough shelter beds. Our big problem with this is that we dont have voluntary services available, and that we believe that people should have access to services that they want before they are forced into services. Despite the challenges, city leaders say theyre moving forward. And it is up to the board of supervisors and the department of Public Health to implement this new program. Now the mayor would not take questions from reporters after the event, but she did say in her opening remarks that the city plans on adding one thousand new shelter beds by the year 2020. We were told they were going to have a practice action at about 3 45. Didnt see them. Saw fat albert flying around. You just heard the roar go over. And people, theyre not doing anything. Theyre waiting for the planes to fly over again. Even before you see them, you know the blue angels are nearby. Nothing sounds quite as impressive as a quartet of jet fighters passing overhead. I think its just stunning the precision and also the sound. Its exciting to hear them and to see them, and like you mentioned, the formation. So close proximity. How close . In the diamond, as close as 18 inches wing to canopy preparation. Thats a lot of practice, a lot of work. Its a lot of trust. At 400 miles an hour, thats an understatement. Lieutenant commander damon cruzu flies number two. He is a fremont native and is excited about performing in front of the home crowd. Breakfast was well, breakfast. But i tell you what, its incredible to see these six guys flying around here at incredible speeds and doing what they do. It takes so much precision and so much practice. Its just a whole lot of fun. And thats what folks are going to have the next couple days, a whole lot of fun. And i know youre geeking out, this is right up your alley, more than the average person. Loves planes. So we know crissy field is a great spot to watch it. But what are some of the other good places to see the blue angels . Well, you know, earlier, when they had sort of a flyaround to look at the landmarks around here we saw them pretty well from the embarcadero. But as a general rule, aquatic park is a great place. The hill above fort mason is a great place. But if you want to know the absolute best place to watch from, it is a boat out in the bay. If you dont have access to one of those place, crissy field, to the north of alcatraz, great viewing areas. Find a friend with a nice yauchlt. Yes. Thank you, eric. The skies are getting clearer despite the lingering clouds and flecks of moisture. Camera looking at clouds over the bay. And these are our forecast features. It will be turning mostly clear overnight with bright blue skies for the blue angels tomorrow, and a sunny and warmer threeday weekend is coming our way. So fleet week weekend is going to be awesome. Overnight, look for clouds sort of clearing out, so to speak. Overnight lows will be quite a bit cooler than they have been of late. Upper 40s in the north bay valleys. Low to mid50s just about everywhere else. Were going to feel that loss of the humidity that has been hanging around the last few days. And that brings us to fleet week in San Francisco this weekend. Blue angels will be putting on the air show from 12 noon to 4 00 p. M. Tomorrow, saturday, and sunday under sunny skies here in the city well see temperatures tomorrow in the mid60s, upper 60s on saturday, and around 70 degrees on sunday. And that same pattern holds on monday, columbus day. Virtually no change in that pattern. Well see some mid 80s in the warmest inland spots. Mid to upper 70s around the bay and mid 60s on the coast. So here is the accuweather sevenday forecast. It begins warming up, gets a little milder tomorrow. Doesnt get very warm. Just sunnier and dryer. The warming truly begins on saturday. Then it turns sharply cooler inland with little change on tuesday. Tuesday, wednesday, dont look for highs above 80, about 75, 80 degrees. 75 to 78 degrees on tuesday and wednesday inland.
