your smartphone. enable push alerts. new this morning vallejo police want to find this woman. they say she pepper sprayed a wahl greens employee. the incident made a dozen customers sick. sky7 was over the scene on thursday afternoon. the employee told police she recognized the woman as someone who previously stole from the store. when the employee asked her to leave the women shot a burst of pepper spray. medics took the employee and one kmer to the hospital a dozen others were treated at the scene. if you recognize this woman you are asked to call vallejo police we are hearing from a wife of a man purged in a face and seriously injured. it happened when he mistook a car for a ride share. surveillance video show he is the victim, chris matthews wagon up to a car at 1st and howard earlier this month. a man gets out and punches matthews sending him to the ground. his wife says there was blood everywhere and he has a brain injury. >> he he has a lot of people routing for him. i goes by the twitter handle, sf streets 1. he has been documenting drug use and crime right outside of his window. after hour story we helped him get a fast response from police. last night he tweeted about a pile of trash at the 14 bus stop on mission on 8th. the 311 twitter account responded promising a response within 24 hours. mayor london breed tweeted back thanks 311 but we can do better than 24 hours. 311 sent someone out to clone it up late last night. materials areivg for the fix to the salesforce transit center. two cracked beams forced the $2.2 billion transit hub to close earlier this woke. with materials arriving today work is expected to begin tomorrow. the transit center is expected to stay closed at least until the end of next we can. buses will keep operating out of the temporary terminal. in the south bay, some of the world's top beach volleyball players are there this weekend for the inaugural platform 1440 san jose invitational. here is more on what the name the fact that i was dying. >> it was a day that changed her life forever. congresswoman jackie speier opening up to cheryl jennings about the jonestown massacre. a feature meant to keep your profile priv this year marks the 40th anniversary of the jonestown massacre. it's the largest murder/suicide in american history. it happened to american citizens living in a religious cult overseas in the south american country of guyana. congresswoman jackie speier was there in 1979, as a young aide to a congressman investigating reports of abuse. but they were ambushed and shot trying to leave. she talked to our reporter about how that attack drastically attacked her life. >> i was 28 and i had resigned myself to the fact i was dieing. >> they found another bullet in my right arm three weeks ago. >> she survived in spite of being shot five times by followers of the reverend jim jones. he led a religious cult called the people's temple. speier was an aide to leo ryan. he was on a fact finding mission to investigate complaints of sexual and physician abuse at the overseas compound in guyana. he brought journalists to cover the story. >> they came and shot the congressman. they shot don harris, the nbc reporter. the cameramen, the sound man, greg robig her badly mangled body with one arm behind the plane's wheel well. she and the others were on the airstrip nearly 22 hours. they were finally moved to a tent still waiting for medical attention which came much later. >> all i had was the goodness of you know some of the reporters and the producer from nbc. who came and brought me rum, guyana rum and i took swigs of rum to get threw the night. >> the ambush killed congressman ryan and four others, including three journalists. shortly after the attack, jim jones sent more most as i look back at it is that we had a state department that failed us. we had local law enforcement that failed us. we had local government that failed us, bus there were so many tell tale signs of illegal activity. and that alone should have prompted scrutiny. >> speier says jonestown taut her we have to be suspicious of groups operating in secrecy, while claiming the first amendment right of freedom of religion. they need to be reported if any commit crimes. >> i'm a roman catholic and i look at the catholic church and how they allowed priests who were pedophiles to be recirculated into another parish when they had an obligation to go to laughtw enforcement and didn't. >> speier has become fearless after surviving her experience. >> had jonestown not happened i don't know that i would have run for public office. that's the real power of being in elective offices is that you can shine a spotlight on issues that deserve attention. you can bring people together to find solutions people will now have to log back into facebook or any of the apps that use facebook log in. finally the company temporarily disabled the view-as feature for a security review. surprisingly the major somewhat rainy tuesday. but first things first. it is 61 in hayward. 59 in san jose. with mid-50s in santa rosa. it has been certainly much, much kohler the past couple days with the numbers in the 40s. in the north bay. but right now anywhere from 3 to 8 degrees milder due to cloud cover. a live look outside from the roof camera. pretty interesting view here with the winds calm. but we will see the possibility of a few light showers or sprinkles throughout the north by today. that's a system off the coast and then the numbersably average all weekend. and then the next system brings widespread showers monday into tuesday. but if you are spending time in the south by you notice it's on the cooler side of average. 50s to low 60s from 8:00 to 10:00 with a lot of cloud cover. then the clouds thin out. upper 60s to low to mid-70s. that's shy of the low 80s for this time of year. but you'll be dry and also see more sun in the east by. let's take you through the forecast hour by the crisis intervention manager at the center. she has seen a steady increase in callers following christine blasey ford's testimony before the senate judiciary committee. richardson says watching ford share her story of sexual assault on the world stage could have given other survivors the courage to come forward to get help. >> it's one of the hallmarks of trauma when i we see something like that happen or you hear a story that resonates with something you experienced that that can bring up some of the eemss and persons again. >> reporter: the san jose center offers a full range of services including emergency shelter and legal advocacy. on the walls are messages of support to survivors who they have helped. the best thing to do if a survivor wants to share their story is to without their loved one. they've gone through the holidays without them. >> he plans to hold a 58-hour vigil starting tomorrow to honor the 58 lives lofts. there will be a 1-hour vigil for each victim. back here at home santa clara officials want to pay you to get rid of guns. today five cities are coming together for the first north county gun buyback event from 8:00 this morning until noon
