We just got an update from the chp and they tell us they do think the driver who caused this accident was drunk and they think he has driven drunk before. They tell us officer martin landway, a motorcycle officer, he was the one who was injured. He wasnt on his motorcycle at the time. He was standing out on the median investigating another crash when this happened. Investigators say a chevy trail blazer came along, hit the parked motorcycle and then one of the trucks involved in the first crash, that truck landed on officer landway. Two cars trying to avoid the motorcycle now in the middle of the road also crashed. Quite a Chain Reaction out there. This happened last night around 6 15 on eastbound highway 4 in concord. They released the name of the driver they believed was drunk. 52yearold tammy walker of pittsburg. She has been booked on several charges including driving on a suspended drivers license for a prior conviction. The officer has major injuries that are not life threatening, that he is expected to survive and to be okay. The driver charged in the Christmas Eve death of a Highway Patrol officer faces arraignment, charged with firstdegree murder. Camilleris partner, officer jonathan velasquez, was injured. Camilleri had just graduated from the chp academy in march.
