This is a human error and we have humans in the cockpit so we are prone to this sort of thing. What is important is to understand how many backup systems and here the backup systems worked. Reporter this is the second close call at sfo. In july an air canada flight mistook a crowded taxiway for 2a right. The plane flew as low as 59 feet before the pilot aborted the landing. This morning the search for survivors continues in Santa Barbara county following tuesdays dangerous flooding and mud flows in burn areas. The death toll has gone up to 17. And this morning the Los Angeles Times reporting county officials decided not to send an Emergency Alert to cell phones warning of those mud slides until after the flooding had already started. Officials do say more than 200,000 emails and other warning messages were sent out but they elected not to use that push alert system to cell phones out of concern it may not be taken seriously.
