>> announcer: live where you live. this is abc7 news. gunfire on the road sits off a series of crashes leaving at least eight people injured. one with gun shot wounds. good evening. thank you for joining us i'm dion lim. >> i'm eric thomas. we begin with the search for a gunman who opened fire on a road in fairfield. >> waterman boulevard, where the crashes happened reopened just tiffany wilson has our story. >> reporter: police have the overpass shut down. the shooting happened on the far side, i-80 east. and the shooting happened close to the on ramp for i-80 west. >> we didn't know whether it was an he can change of gunfire or not. what i do know is that the victim was in a silver honda accord, that a vehicle pulled up next to him and shots were fired in his direction. >> reporter: the shooting apdaround 3:30 saturday afternoon. the driver this honda accord was hit multiple times. the other driver sped of. >> thinks vehicle collided with other cars. >> reporter: first he crashed into this suv and then this car? he was somewhat coherrin. he is at the hospital right now. >> reporter: the lieutenant says the driver is in critical condition. a total of seven other people were in the other two vehicles. some of them were injured as well. >> they were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, some just precautionary. >> reporter: investigators believe additional cars on waterman boulevard could have been impacted by the injured driver. >> we have some information maybe there were a couple of other vehicles that fell victim to the collision that were no longer on the scene when our officers arrived. we are asking especially those drivers to give us a call. >> reporter: police are reviewing nearby surveillance cameras hoping to identify the suspect's vehicle n. fairfield, tiffany wilson, abc7 news. a man from the los angeles area faces charges tonight after investigators say he planted a camera inside a mill valley home to peep on a boy. the marin county sheriff's office tweeted this picture you see here of 32-year-old marcus allen williams being taken into custody last night at a san francisco international airport. we are told he is a friend of the boy's family. the boy's family found the camera and aimages on it last week. williams was previously a guest at the home. the owner and founder of four barrel cough today agreed to leave the country one day after employees filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. the cnncal reports eight former employees filed a lawsuit against the owner seen here. he is accused of creating a toxic workplace culture for female employees. at least one company has severed ties with four barrel. they announced it will no longer be ordering from four barrel. the owner hasn't responded to the lawsuit. an historic day in san francisco as half a dozen pot dispensaries opened for business. san francisco joined berkeley and "nbc 7 news midday" to start legal sales of to iron out its regulations. >> we had a lot of issues we had to work through. there were people who frarchly deny understand cannabis. >> super happy to be open now. i think every has its due course. >> reporter: this founder didn't mine the wait but wasn't too thrilled after u.s. attorney general jeff sessions announced this week a federal crackdown on states that legalized marijuana. >> i can't water and waves round them into spheres. definitely not something we ever see out here. for us, a storm is coming to the bay area, which means more snow up in tahoe. look at this video from mammoth strong storm, a level three storm on monday with heavy rain at times. combine that with strong winds. and with that heavy rain we have concerns for flooding. let's time this out for you. hour by hour we g. sunday night at 11 p.m., likely see light showers along the coastline. watch what happens. monday morning the area coverage of that rain he can pants very quickly. those yellows you see on your screen that is heavy rain across much of the region. the monday morning commute looks to be a very slow one with that rain coming down. and that rain will come in waves. so we may see a break in the activity midday before more rain fills in monday afternoon. you can see, still heavy at times, continuing even into the evening rush as well monday night. future tracker rainfall, as the storm system moves through on monday it is going to soak the entire region. a good rainfall estimate this the 24 hour window right now looks to be one to perhaps two inches of rain. i would not be surprised with the current track of this storm system if our coastal ranges see well over two inches of rain with this storm system. it's not only the rain we are tracking. it's also the winds that come with this system. monday evening you see the wind racing 30, perhaps 45 miles per hour out of the south. we are also tracking the winter storm watch in effect in the sierra. above 6,000 feet six to 12 inches of snow with the highest peaks getting up to two inches of fresh powder. clear on sunday, strong storm on monday with downpours and windy conditions. tuesday the storm could linger. by wednesday it's out news. >> good evening i'm eric thomas. >> i'm dion lim. in tonight's headlines, eight people were injured in fairfield after a shooting and three car crash. police say the shooting happened just after 3:00 p.m. near interstate 80 and the driver of a honda accord was hit multiple times. that vehicle then hit several others. the vehicle with suspected gunmen sped off. police are going through survey loons videos to see if they can identify it. seven dispensaries are now selling pot. sales became legal on january 1st but san francisco had to wait to final its the city regulations. the good news is someone did hit the lottery jackpot tonight. the lone winning ticket was sold in new hampshire. here are the numbers from tonight's drawing, they are on your screen, 12, 29, 30, 33, 61, and the power ball of 26. some doctors say this is the worst flu season in 15, maybe even 20 years. pharmacies are running out of medicine to treat it. and emergency rooms are packed. yesterday i talked to an eastbound doctor who does not recommend that you go to the emergency room for flu-like symptoms unless you feel especially bad or if you have a chronic medical condition. some bay area hospitals are limiting visitors younger than 16 since they are more vulnerable to the effects of the flu. this season's flu may outpace last years because it's peaking earlier this year. a young boy died earlier this week of the flu. his mother is sharing her story as a warning to other parents. >> it happened so fast. in days. you know n a matter of days. and i never expected it. he was very healthy. >> reporter: juanita vidana says it started on new year's eve. her 7-year-old was having breathing problems so they went to the er, where they weren't alone. >> it was full of people coughing and sneezing. everybody was there for the flu, basically. >> reporter: she says doctors thought it was related to cisco's asthma. he was treated and released. but on wednesday his condition got much worse. he had fever, was extremely tired, and had a terrible stomach ache. so they went back to the er. >> he said mom, i just want to going home and sleep on the couch. i want to lay and stretch my legs. i just -- i love you. and i told him i loved him tha i would bring him home as soon as they gave him medicine and he was better. >> reporter: but cisco would not get better. >> they were going to send him to the icu at loma linda and he didn't make it. >> reporter: her doctor says it was myocarditis, a heart condition. dr. cotton at loma linda university health says that condition is often a result of the flu. >> it is a very well-known complication of influenza. again, doesn't happen very often but if it happens it's very bad. >> reporter: the family has set up a go fund me account for cisco, who they say was a good student with a big smile who was always there for his siblings. >> he would always want the best for me and my sister and then the baby. >> that was rob mcmillan >> announcer: live where you live. this is abc7 news. gunfire on the road sits off a series of crashes leaving at least eight people injured. one with gun shot wounds. good evening. thank you for joining us i'm dion lim. >> i'm eric thomas. we begin with the search for a gunman who opened fire on a road in fairfield. >> waterman boulevard, where the crashes happened reopened just tiffany wilson has our story. >> reporter: police have the overpass shut down. the shooting happened on the far side, i-80 east. and the shooting happened close to the on ramp for i-80 west. >> we didn't know whether it was an he can change of gunfire or not. what i do know is that the victim was in a silver honda accord, that a vehicle pulled up next to him and shots were fired in his direction. >> reporter: the shooting apdaround 3:30 saturday afternoon. the driver this honda accord was hit multiple times. the other driver sped of. >> thinks vehicle collided with other cars. >> reporter: first he crashed into this suv and then this car? he was somewhat coherrin. he is at the hospital right now. >> reporter: the lieutenant says the driver is in critical condition. a total of seven other people were in the other two vehicles. some of them were injured as well. >> they were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, some just precautionary. >> reporter: investigators believe additional cars on waterman boulevard could have been impacted by the injured driver. >> we have some information maybe there were a couple of other vehicles that fell victim to the collision that were no longer on the scene when our officers arrived. we are asking especially those drivers to give us a call. >> reporter: police are reviewing nearby surveillance cameras hoping to identify the suspect's vehicle n. fairfield, tiffany wilson, abc7 news. a man from the los angeles area faces charges tonight after investigators say he planted a camera inside a mill valley home to peep on a boy. the marin county sheriff's office tweeted this picture you see here of 32-year-old marcus allen williams being taken into custody last night at a san francisco international airport. we are told he is a friend of the boy's family. the boy's family found the camera and aimages on it last week. williams was previously a guest at the home. the owner and founder of four barrel cough today agreed to leave the country one day after employees filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. the cnncal reports eight former employees filed a lawsuit against the owner seen here. he is accused of creating a toxic workplace culture for female employees. at least one company has severed ties with four barrel. they announced it will no longer be ordering from four barrel. the owner hasn't responded to the lawsuit. an historic day in san francisco as half a dozen pot dispensaries opened for business. san francisco joined berkeley and "nbc 7 news midday" to start legal sales of screen that is heavy rain across much of the region. the monday morning commute looks to be a very slow one with that rain coming down. and that rain will come in waves. so we may see a break in the activity midday before more rain fills in monday afternoon. you can see, still heavy at times, continuing even into the evening rush as well monday night. future tracker rainfall, as the storm system moves through on monday it is going to soak the entire region. a good rainfall estimate this the 24 hour window right now looks to be one to perhaps two inches of rain. i would not be surprised with the current track of this storm system if our coastal ranges see well over two inches of rain with this storm system. it's not only the rain we are tracking. it's also the winds that come with this system. monday evening you see the wind racing 30, perhaps 45 miles per hour out of the south. we are also tracking the winter storm watch in effect in the sierra. above 6,000 feet six to 12 inches of snow with the highest peaks getting up to two inches of fresh powder. clear on sunday, strong storm on monday with downpours and windy conditions. tuesday the storm could linger. by wednesday it's out 3:00 p.m. near interstate 80 and the driver of a honda accord was hit multiple times. that vehicle then hit several others. the vehicle with suspected gunmen sped off. police are going through survey loons videos to see if they can identify it. seven dispensaries are now selling pot. sales became legal on january 1st but san francisco had to wait to final its the city regulations. the good news is ball of 26. some doctors say this is the worst flu season in 15, maybe even 20 years. pharmacies are running out of medicine to treat it. and emergency rooms are packed. yesterday i talked to an eastbound doctor who does not recommend that you go to the emergency room for flu-like symptoms unless you feel especially bad or if you have a chronic medical condition. some bay area hospitals are limiting visitors younger than 16 since they are more vulnerable to the effects of the flu. this season's flu may outpace last years because it's peaking earlier this year. a young boy died earlier worse. he had fever, was extremely tired, and had a terrible stomach ache. so they went back to the er. >> he said mom, i just want to going home and sleep on the couch. i want to lay and stretch my legs. i just -- i love you. and i told him i loved him tha i would bring him home as soon as they gave him medicine and he was better. >> reporter: but cisco would not get better. >> they were going
