monterey county. a diver attacked by what's believed to be a great white shark. the attack happened yesterday in stillwater cove off pebble beach. the diver may owe his life to two first responders who happened to be in the right place at the right time. abc 7's cheryl jennings has the story. >> reporter: the diver was spear fishing with his father 80 yards off pebble beach when the shark bit his leg. >> he swam to the surface to tell his dad what he had seen and when he was at the surface, the shark actually attacked him. >> reporter: officials believed it was a great white based on the bite marks. the diver managed to get his boat back to shore. >> you see a boat in the water, the subject to the side of her, yelling about some type of shark bite. >> saw this red zodiac boat come in, kind of acting a little not right. >> reporter: at the same time, two off-duty monterey county sheriff's deputies happened to be finishing up a day of fishing at stillwater cove. witnesses alerted them. one deputy applied a tourniquet. to stop the massive blood loss from the victim's right thigh. >> the wet suit was inside the zodiac. it was pretty shredded, there was a lot of blood. >> reporter: an air unit spotted the shark. cal fire coordinated with deputies to evacuate the cove. a cal fire jet ski helped a swimmer back to the pier. warning signs have been posted. cheryl jennings, abc 7 news. >> the 25-year-old victim is undergoing treatment at a salinas hospital. there have been seven known shark attacks in the area since 1966. only one was fatal. that was an attack on a surfer in 1981 off spanish bay. abc 7 news has learned the san francisco police union has filed papers with the department of elections saying it will circulate a petition for a june referendum. that referendum will determine a policy for the use of tasers. abc 7 news reporter vic lee has the story you'll see only on abc 7 news. >> we will let the citizens and the voters of this city decide this issue once and for all. >> reporter: police union president marty halloran says tasers have been debated by the police commission for eight long years. four police chiefs have asked for them. the fact that the commission finally voted for the use of tasers last month, halloran said, is not enough. >> what they voted on is the concept or the idea of officers carrying tasers. they did not vote on a policy. >> reporter: that's why on tuesday the poa filed notice with the office of elections that they will circulate petitions for a referendum on tasers for next june's elections. this proposed ordinance lists a policy that the poa believes will protect the officers and the public. halloran says it's not much different from a draft policy that the commission worked on in may. >> the policy that the commission put forward in may, that's almost the identical language that we're going to put forward to the voters. >> reporter: the commission hopes to have tasers in the hands of officers by december 2018 at the earliest. first, they would have to adopt a policy. commission president julius turman says that means hearing from all stakeholders including opponents. >> we need some time to look at all of those policies and come together on what the best policy would be. >> i'm afraid also that that policy will be tweaked to a point where it's no longer practical. >> reporter: if the police commission adopts a policy that's acceptable to the poa like last may's working draft policy, the group says it will drop its call for a referendum. vic lee, abc 7 news. business is expected to pick up in santa rosa today during small business saturday. store owners saw a much-needed boom on black friday as they recover from the north bay wildfires. abc 7 news reporter katie utehs has more. >> reporter: the holiday shopping runaround doesn't have to be hard. >> all the specialists are really well-trained, and we do give each individual just the service that they need. >> reporter: fleet feet in historic downtown santa rosa is looking forward to small business saturday when consumers shop local. >> we love to support local businesses, especially in this area, after everything that we've been through. >> reporter: the last month in and a half have been slow at bat cape comics and toys. but sales picked up on black friday. >> business is actually really good. since the fires hit, we kind of needed it. >> reporter: while some people look forward to cyber monday, mike holbrook says he doesn't sell on ebay or amazon. like other collectibles vendors. >> we like our locals to be able to see it and touch it. in the case of comic books, some people even like to smell them. >> reporter: from specialty sneakers to the toys you wish santa had brought you as a kid, it's all available locally. in santa rosa, katie utehs, abc 7 news. the city of oakland declared the start of plaid friday weekend to encourage people to start at local businesses. mayor libby shaff tweeted this picture of herself taking part. more than 200 shops and restaurants are offering special deals this weekend. from now through this weekend, all street meters will be free on saturdays to encourage shopping. however time limits on meters will still apply. three, two, one -- [ cheering ] >> abc 7 news was in san francisco's union square for the 28th annual macy's tree lighting ceremony, last night hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the start of the holiday season. more than 43,000 l.e.d. lights and 700 ornaments decorate the tree. the ceremony featured choirs, show tunes, and a visit from santa. san jose may have one-upped san francisco. christmas in the park set a guinness world record last night. and that's not all. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has that story from downtown san jose. > three, two, one -- >> reporter: with that, the 32nd annual christmas in the park was officially under way. the giant centerpiece is one of 600 decorated trees in the park. that's 75 more than last year, and more than just an impressive number. according to executive director jason minsky. >> we're actually going to set the guinness book of world right side for most illuminated christmas trees in one location. >> go san jose! that's awesome. beautiful. >> that's nice, very nice. >> reporter: the forest of christmas trees is matched only by the crowds. an estimated 20,000 people came out on the first night. >> it's going great. lots of people. everyone has a positive attitude. the energy is great. i definitely will come back next year. >> the holidays, kids having fun, nice enjoyment. >> reporter: the holiday spirit will last longer than ever this year. christmas in the park is staying open an extra week to coincide with the u.s. figure skating championships at the s.a.p. center. that means more time for fun and the famous hot chocolate. >> i love the animations, and the hot chocolate is fantastic. >> reporter: but you had to come on the first night to catch this once in a lifetime moment, a surprise christmas in the park proposal. she said yes. in san jose, katie marzullo, abc 7 news. happening today, children can have a blast sliding at san rafael's winter wonderland. abc 7 was at the event last night when more than 40 tons of snow was hauled into downtown. today kids can sled down a man made hill on "a" street between 9:00 and noon. there will fairly quickly. >> reporter: sergeant raoul aguilera was sure he would find a few cars with personal items and holiday packages inside. he found more than he was expecting. the owner of this car didn't even try to hide the gifts. >> definitely have -- oh, my. this one has macy's, apple. >> reporter: christmas gifts? >> christmas gifts, boots, uggs. it wouldn't take too long, somebody can use something like this, it's a window punch. this is something, you hit the window, and it will shatter immediately. >> reporter: we saw this man putting two large bags in the back seat of his car and walk away. we tried to tell him that it wasn't safe. you just left your bags in there. >> yeah. >> reporter: somebody could steal them. >> i just hide it. >> reporter: you hide it? >> yeah. >> reporter: but as we discovered, he had not hidden them at all. they were there for the taking. >> unfortunately that is very common. and that is not a very good strategy to protecting your shopping. the best thing to do would be to, you know, bring them with you. >> it's a very different world. even shopping is a very different world now. you have to be cautious all the time. that's what i try to do. i don't know how successful i am. but, you know, i've been lucky so far. >> reporter: from now through the holidays, san rafael police will have more patrols in places where people shop. >> we do [ bell ringing ] >> reporter: forget black friday. these kids and their parents wanted none of it. instead, opting for green friday by visiting an east bay regional park, in this case tilden. >> we all decided to come out to tilden park instead of the madness of the malls. >> i wanted to be outside today, it's a beautiful day and i wanted to avoid the crowds, even though there's kind of a crowd here. >> reporter: as a gift to visitors, the east bay regional park district waived all parking fees along with those for fishing and pets. the parking fee on roberts regional recreational area on skyline is normally $5. >> it's such a great park, we thought it would be packed but we got great parking and for free on top of it. >> reporter: some people told us they didn't realize the parking in the parks was free until they got to the kiosks. >> it was pretty cool, i had the 20 ready to go even though it's five bucks to park here. >> reporter: even without the lure of free parking, some visitors told us they wouldn't be anywhere near a mall anyway. >> we have screaming kids, it's impossible to go to the mall. i wish i weren't here but i had to get stuck in this beautiful setting. >> reporter: in oakland, laura anthony, abc 7 news. a rescue rooster is learning to walk again with the help of a therapy wheelchair and the support of a vacaville family. this is roo, he's been staying with the smith family in vacaville for a while. he was seriously hurt after a fight with another rooster. roo suffered swelling to his brain in the fight. unable to function on his own, his owner found a chicken therapy chair sold in australia and knew she had to get it to help roo recuperate. >> to move around in it, sit upright. he eats a ton. he's eating a lot of food, drinking a lot of water. and it's just made all the difference in the world. >> smith's 12-year-old daughter is functioning as roo's physical therapist, taking him through basic movements in hopes he'll eventually be able to move on his own one day. this holiday weekend, the parking lots on each end of the golden gate bridge are shut down to traffic. the closures affect the welcome center parking lot at the south end and the vista point parking lot on the north end between 11:00 a.m. through 5:00 on sunday. officials are taking the measures to prevent traffic from backing up to the bridge. visitors are encouraged to take public transit or use a ride sharing service such as lyft or uber. happening today, the lobby of san francisco's fairmont hotel will be transformed with into a winter wonderland. starting today you can feast your eyes on this gingerbread house in this the hotel. it's 25 feet high and 10 feet deep. the house is made up of 10,000 homemade gingerbread bricks and 3300 pounds of icing. the display will be up until january 1st. now that thanksgiving is behind us, it's time to decorate for the holidays. if you're looking for a christmas tree, check out the boy scouts holiday lot in piedmont. today is the opening day for the tree lot at miraga avenue and red rock road. the boy scouts help families pick 1500 christmas trees each year. sales activity supports scouting activities. it goes until december 31st or until supplies last. good morning to you. waking up to a mix of clouds and sun. finally we're getting a weather system in here that means business. it will be a quick mover. you can see it offshore. it will dump anywhere from a half" to upwards of two inches of rain in the north bay by monday morning. here is a look from our roof campaign, no wind tall. earlier we had a strong northeast wind at the surface. that allowed half moon bay to reach 64 degrees. we have gusty upper elevation winds. 57 right now in san francisco and oakland. 54 mountain view and san jose. another vantage point from our east bay hills. this is where we had wills at 32 miles per hour. 50 santa rosa. still in the 60s in concord with low 50s out in livermore. looking at a mild start in novato at 57 degrees. so from emeryville, look closer to the bay. a nice mild day, in fact warm with well above average reading. some recordings are possible. we had 64 in half moon bay yesterday, 76 in santa cruz. 74 in san jose. it's been a little too warm for november. wet and windy tomorrow with the hills picking up upwards of two inches. the rain lingers into your monday morning. we rate our systems from 1 to 5. overnight tonight into monday morning we'll see anywhere from that half inch to two inches, gusty southwest winds. and eventually we'll get some snow in the mountains but starting out as rain there. our forecast animation showing the rain at 5:00 tomorrow morning, just around santa rosa. it moves over the heart of the bay at 9:00 with heavy rain from i-80 to san francisco and on the coast. and then by noontime it's in the south bay, pushing out of the east bay, the santa cruz mountains. we'll have a bit of a lull throughout the afternoon. but still wet for the raiders, the niners game, and then through the overnight hours, another wave pushes through. this is into your monday morning commute. we'll have leftover showers. with those two waves, we're adding up the rainfall totals. the first one brings us that half inch to an inch. and then that second push will bring us perhaps an inch to maybe and a third in calistoga. we're looking for this to move through quickly, then that lull, and then another push of rain. plan on a wet couple of days after today. 70 in san francisco as well as oakland. 72 in palo alto and the north bay. mix of clouds and sun, upper 60s. overnight tonight you can see the rain just pushing into the north bay with 50s, 60s, and windy conditions. the accuweather seven-day forecast, the warmest day out of the next "star wars" droid bb-8 turned heads as it rolled into the performance center in oakland. the famed movie star was there to shoot a promo with the team to hype "star wars: the last jedi." it's being live look from our emeryville camera. you can see heavy smoke under northbound interstate 880 to westbound 80 in oakland near the maze. there are reports of an rv on fire. the oakland fire department is now on scene. earlier we were able to see flam flames. it's not having much effect on traffic. fire crews have arrived and are working to put the fire out. the egyptian military struck back overnight against people they believe were behind a horrifying terror attack. the death toll is upwards of 300 people, including many children, after an attack on a mosque where worshippers were in the midst of prayer. abc news reporter jennifer eccleston has the latest. >> reporter: this morning retaliation from egypt's air force. air strikes on militants the government claims for a massacre at a mosque, the deadliest attack in egypt in modern history. on friday afternoon, at least 300 people were killed. more than 100 injured when dozens of islamic militants carrying isis flags ambushed a mosque 125 miles northeast of cairo. witnesses reporting explosions from inside the holy site as worshippers attempted to flee. outside, mass gunmen opening fire, shooting into the mosque and setting fire to cars cutting off escape routes. even ambulances rushing to the scene facing gunfire. most of the aftermath too gruesome to show. rows of victims including 27 children. no group has claimed responsibility. but islamic state is suspected. those worshipping may have followed a mystical form of islam called sufism which isis says is heresy. overnight, the colors of the egyptian flag illuminating government buildings in israel, toronto, and birmingham, england. >> that was jennifer eccleston reporting. egypt is observing three days of mourning and christian churches across cairo are ringing their bells in memory of the victims. new details following the death of charles manson. tmz says it has obtained a copy of the killer's will. manson left his body and estate to a pen pal he had been in contact with since the 1990s. tmz did not name the pen pal in its report. the pen pal told tmz he first visited manson in prison in 2002, the same year the will was drafted. manson's body must be claimed ten days after his death, according to prison policy. the pen pal says he plans to do that. a manhunt has ended for a teenager from florida who is a person of interest until the dea in the death of his grandmother. he was arrested thousands of miles away from home while trying to cross the border to canada. >> reporter: overnight, a teenager suspected of killing his 53-year-old grandmother in his jacksonville home was caught. this photo is of him in his newly-shaved head. jacksonville sheriff's office confirmed that wanted 15-year-old logan mott is now in custody, after trying to enter canada in his grandmother's dodge dart. he had traveled a thousand miles to buffalo, new york where he tried to cross the border and was stopped by customs. mott was believed to be armed and dangerous. >> firearms were taken from the home on seagate. extreme caution should be taken. >> reporter: now police are seeking answers from logan, a person of interest in the death of his grandmother. his father returned to a ransacked home, firearms missing, and no sign of his son or his mother. police making a gruesome discovery as they searched the home for clues. >> the processing of the home on thursday revealed evidence of foul play, potential criminal violence inside. late in the day, a potential gravesite outside. >> reporter: the body believed to be grandmother christina french. logan's mother telling abc news in a statement, "no matter what, logan is our child and we love him and are standing by him to help in any way." abc news, washington. the magazines cot of the l.a. kings is accused of groping a man at the staples center. a lawsuit claims that bailey grabbed a man's butt in an elevator back in 2016. the alleged victim says he was working as a dishwasher at the staples center at the time. he claims he was fired after complaining to the hr director who happened to be the wife of the man in the costume. the kings released a statement saying an internal investigation last year found the claims did not have any merit. you've heard of the ugly christmas sweater. well, montreal, canada took it one step further and put up an ugly christmas tree. take a look at this installation downtown. the city is celebrating the tree's imperfections, highlighting the drooping tree top. people say it shows how perfectly imperfect nature can monterey county. a diver attacked by what's believed to be a great white shark. the attack happened yesterday in stillwater cove off pebble beach. the diver may owe his life to two first responders who happened to be in the right place at the right time. abc 7's cheryl jennings has the story. >> reporter: the diver was spear fishing with his father 80 yards off pebble beach when the shark bit his leg. >> he swam to the surface to tell his dad what he had seen and when he was at the surface, the shark actually attacked him. >> reporter: officials believed it was a great white based on the bite marks. the diver managed to get his boat back to shore. >> you see a boat in the water, the subject to the side of her, yelling about some type of shark bite. >> saw this red zodiac boat come in, kind of acting a little not right. >> reporter: at the same time, two off-duty monterey county sheriff's deputies happened to be finishing up a day of fishing at stillwater cove. witnesses alerted them. one deputy applied a tourniquet. to stop the massive blood loss from the victim's right thigh. >> the wet suit was inside the zodiac. it was pretty shredded, there was a lot of blood. >> reporter: an air unit spotted the shark. cal fire coordinated with deputies to evacuate the cove. a cal fire jet ski helped a swimmer back to the pier. warning signs have been posted. cheryl jennings, abc 7 news. >> the 25-year-old victim is undergoing treatment at a salinas hospital. there have been seven known shark attacks in the area since 1966. only one was fatal. that was an attack on a surfer in 1981 off spanish bay. abc 7 news has learned the san francisco police union has filed papers with the department of elections saying it will circulate a petition for a june referendum. that referendum will determine a policy for the use of tasers. abc 7 news reporter vic lee has the story you'll see only on abc 7 news. >> we will let the citizens and the voters of this city decide this issue once and for all. >> reporter: police union president marty halloran says tasers have been debated by the police commission for eight long years. four police chiefs have asked for them. the fact that the commission finally voted for the use of tasers last month, halloran said, is not enough. >> what they voted on is the concept or the idea of officers carrying tasers. they did not vote on a policy. >> reporter: that's why on tuesday the poa filed notice with the office of elections that they will circulate petitions for a referendum on tasers for next june's elections. this proposed ordinance lists a policy that the poa believes will protect the officers and the public. halloran says it's not much different from a draft policy that the commission worked on in may. >> the policy that the commission put forward in may, that's almost the identical language that we're going to put forward to the voters. >> reporter: the commission hopes to have tasers in the hands of officers by december 2018 at the earliest. first, they would have to adopt a policy. commission president julius turman says that means hearing from all stakeholders including opponents. >> we need some time to look at all of those policies and come together on what the best policy would be. >> i'm afraid also that that policy will be tweaked to a point where it's no longer practical. >> reporter: if the police commission adopts a policy that's acceptable to the poa like last may's working draft policy, the group says it will drop its call for a referendum. vic lee, abc 7 news. business is expected to pick up in santa rosa today during small business saturday. store owners saw a much-needed boom on black friday as they recover from the north bay wildfires. abc 7 news reporter katie utehs has more. >> reporter: the holiday shopping runaround doesn't have to be hard. >> all the specialists are really well-trained, and we do give each individual just the service that they need. >> reporter: fleet feet in historic downtown santa rosa is looking forward to small business saturday when consumers shop local. >> we love to support local businesses, especially in this area, after everything that we've been through. >> reporter: the last month in and a half have been slow at bat cape comics and toys. but sales picked up on black friday. >> business is actually really good. since the fires hit, we kind of needed it. >> reporter: while some people look forward to cyber monday, mike holbrook says he doesn't sell on ebay or amazon. like other collectibles vendors. >> we like our locals to be able to see it and touch it. in the case of comic books, some people even like to smell them. >> reporter: from specialty sneakers to the toys you wish santa had brought you as a kid, it's all available locally. in santa rosa, katie utehs, abc 7 news. the city of oakland declared the start of plaid friday weekend to encourage people to start at local businesses. mayor libby shaff tweeted this picture of herself taking part. more than 200 shops and restaurants are offering special deals this weekend. from now through this weekend, all street meters will be free on saturdays to encourage shopping. however time limits on meters will still apply. three, two, one -- [ cheering ] >> abc 7 news was in san francisco's union square for the 28th annual macy's tree lighting ceremony, last night hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the start of the holiday season. more than 43,000 l.e.d. lights and 700 ornaments decorate the tree. the ceremony featured choirs, show tunes, and a visit from santa. san jose may have one-upped san francisco. christmas in the park set a guinness world record last night. and that's not all. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has that story from downtown san jose. > three, two, one -- >> reporter: with that, the 32nd annual christmas in the park was officially under way. the giant centerpiece is one of 600 decorated trees in the park. that's 75 more than last year, and more than just an impressive number. according to executive director jason minsky. >> we're actually going to set the guinness book of world right side for most illuminated christmas trees in one location. >> go san jose! that's awesome. beautiful. >> that's nice, very nice. >> reporter: the forest of christmas trees is matched only by the crowds. an estimated 20,000 people came out on the first night. >> it's going great. lots of people. everyone has a positive attitude. the energy is great. i definitely will come back next year. >> the holidays, kids having fun, nice enjoyment. >> reporter: the holiday spirit will last longer than ever this year. christmas in the park is staying open an extra week to coincide with the u.s. figure skating championships at the s.a.p. center. that means more time for fun and the famous hot chocolate. >> i love the animations, and the hot chocolate is fantastic. >> reporter: but you had to come on the first night to catch this once in a lifetime moment, a surprise christmas in the park proposal. she said yes. in san jose, katie marzullo, abc 7 news. happening today, children can have a blast sliding at san rafael's winter wonderland. abc 7 was at the event last night when more than 40 tons of snow was hauled into downtown. today kids can sled down a man made hill on "a" street between 9:00 and noon. there will be children's activities like face painting and carnival rides. it will be 70s in san rafael? >> get there early, like 9:00. mt. tam, gorgeous out there. another day of mix of clouds and sun, above didn't even try to hide the gifts. >> definitely have -- oh, my. this one has macy's, apple. >> reporter: christmas gifts? >> christmas gifts, boots, uggs. it wouldn't take too long, somebody can use something like this, it's a window punch. this is something, you hit the window, and it will shatter immediately. >> reporter: we saw this man putting two large bags in the back seat of his car and walk away. we tried to tell him that it wasn't safe. you just left your bags in there. >> yeah. >> reporter: somebody could steal them. >> i just hide it. >> reporter: you hide it? >> yeah. >> reporter: but as we discovered, he had not hidden them at all. they were there for the taking. >> unfortunately that is very common. and that is not a very good strategy to protecting your shopping. the best thing to do would be to, you know, bring them with you. >> it's a very different world. even shopping is a very different world now. you have to be cautious all the time. that's what i try to [ bell ringing ] >> reporter: forget black friday. these kids and their parents wanted none of it. instead, opting for green friday by visiting an east bay regional park, in this case tilden. >> we all decided to come out to tilden park instead of the madness of the malls. >> i wanted to be outside today, it's a beautiful day and i wanted to avoid the crowds, even though there's kind of a crowd here. >> reporter: as a gift to visitors, the east bay regional park district waived all parking fees along with those for fishing and pets. the parking fee on roberts regional recreational area on skyline is normally $5. >> it's such a great park, we thought it would be packed but we got great parking and for free on top of it. >> reporter: some people told us they didn't realize the parking in the parks was free until they got to the kiosks. >> it was pretty cool, i had the 20 ready to go even though it's five bucks to park here. >> reporter: even without the lure of free parking, some visitors told us they wouldn't be anywhere near a mall anyway. >> we have screaming kids, it's impossible to go to the mall. i wish i weren't here but i had to get stuck in this beautiful setting. >> reporter: in oakland, laura anthony, abc 7 news. a rescue rooster is learning to walk again with the help of a therapy wheelchair and the support of a vacaville family. this is roo, he's been staying with the smith family in vacaville for a while. he was seriously hurt after a fight with another rooster. roo suffered swelling to his brain in the fight. unable to function on his own, his owner found a chicken therapy chair sold in australia and knew she had to get it to help roo recuperate. >> to move around in it, sit upright. he eats a ton. he's eating a lot of food, drinking a lot of water. and it's just made all the difference in the world. >> smith's 12-year-old daughter is functioning as roo's physical therapist, taking him through basic movements in hopes he'll eventually be able to move on his own one day. this holiday weekend, the parking lots on each end of the golden gate bridge are shut down to traffic. the closures affect the welcome center parking lot at the south end and the vista point parking lot on the north end between 11:00 a.m. through 5:00 on sunday. officials are taking the measures to prevent traffic from backing up to the bridge. visitors are encouraged to take public transit or use a ride sharing service such as lyft or uber. happening today, the lobby of san francisco's fairmont hotel will be transformed with into a winter wonderland. starting today you can feast your eyes on this gingerbread house in this the hotel. it's 25 feet high and 10 feet deep. the house is made up of 10,000 homemade gingerbread bricks and 3300 pounds of icing. the display will be up until january 1st. now that thanksgiving is behind us, it's time to decorate for the holidays. if you're looking for a christmas tree, check out the boy scouts holiday lot in piedmont. today is the opening day for the tree lot at miraga avenue and red rock road. the boy scouts help families pick 1500 christmas trees each year. sales activity supports scouting activities. it goes until december 31st or until supplies last. good morning to you. waking up to a mix of clouds and sun. finally we're getting a weather system in here that means business. it will be a quick mover. you can see it offshore. it will dump anywhere from a half" to upwards of two inches of rain in the north bay by monday morning. here is a look from our roof campaign, no wind tall. earlier we had a strong northeast wind at the surface. that allowed half moon bay to reach 64 degrees. we have gusty upper elevation winds. 57 right now in san francisco and oakland. 54 mountain view and san jose. another vantage point from our east bay hills. this is where we had wills at 32 miles per hour. 50 santa rosa. still in the 60s in concord with low 50s out in livermore. looking at a mild start in novato at 57 degrees. so from emeryville, look closer to the bay. a nice mild day, in fact warm with well above average reading. some recordings are possible. we had 64 in half moon bay yesterday, 76 in santa cruz. 74 in san jose. it's been a little too warm for november. wet and windy tomorrow with the hills picking up upwards of two inches. the rain lingers into your monday morning. we rate our systems from 1 to 5. overnight tonight into monday morning we'll see anywhere from that half inch to two inches, gusty southwest winds. and eventually we'll get some snow in the mountains but starting out as rain there. our forecast animation showing the rain at 5:00 tomorrow morning, just around santa rosa. it moves over the heart of the bay at 9:00 with heavy rain from i-80 to san francisco and on the coast. and then by noontime it's in the south bay, pushing out of the east bay, the santa cruz mountains. we'll have a bit of a lull throughout the afternoon. but still wet for the raiders, the niners game, and then through the overnight hours, another wave pushes through. this is into your monday morning commute. we'll have leftover showers. with those two waves, we're adding up the rainfall totals. the first one brings us that half inch to an inch. and then that second push will bring us perhaps an inch to maybe and a third in calistoga. we're looking for this to move through quickly, then that lull, and then another push of rain. plan on a wet couple of days after today. 70 in san francisco as well as oakland. 72 in palo alto and the north bay. mix of clouds and sun, upper 60s. overnight tonight you can see the rain just pushing into the north bay with 50s, 60s, and windy conditions. the accuweather seven-day forecast, the warmest day out of the next golden gate with the clouds. we're 50 up in santa rosa, low 50s in livermore. concord still in the low 60s. let's go through the next 12 hours, shall we? 9:00 this morning, we've got the 60s, but look at the clouds increase. by 2:00 we're in the upper 60s to low 70s with a mostly cloudy sky. clouds linger into the evening hours, we're dry, upper 60s. by 9:00 p.m. tonight, it's still mild out there, no rain. the rain will arrive while you're sleeping. we'll time it out for you. it looks for brief heavy rain with gusty winds this time tomorrow, chris. >> lisa, thank you. breaking news, this is a live look from our emeryville camera. you can see heavy smoke under northbound interstate 880 to westbound 80 in oakland near the maze. there are reports of an rv on fire. the oakland fire department is now on scene. earlier we were able to see flam flames. it's not having much effect on traffic. fire crews have arrived and are working to put the fire out. the egyptian military struck back overnight against people they believe were behind a horrifying terror attack. the death toll is upwards of 300 people, including many children, after an attack on a mosque where worshippers were in the midst of prayer. abc news reporter jennifer eccleston has the latest. >> reporter: this morning retaliation from egypt's air force. air strikes on militants the government claims for a massacre at a mosque, the deadliest attack in egypt in modern history. on friday afternoon, at least 300 people were killed. more than 100 injured when dozens of islamic militants carrying isis flags ambushed a mosque 125 miles northeast of cairo. witnesses reporting explosions from inside the holy site as worshippers attempted to flee. outside, mass gunmen opening fire, shooting into the mosque and setting fire to cars cutting off escape routes. even ambulances rushing to the scene facing gunfire. most of the aftermath too gruesome to show. rows of victims including 27 children. no group has claimed responsibility. but islamic state is suspected. those worshipping may have followed a mystical form of islam called sufism which isis says is heresy. overnight, the colors of the egyptian flag illuminating government buildings in israel, toronto, and birmingham, england. >> that was jennifer eccleston reporting. egypt is observing three days of mourning and christian churches across cairo are ringing their bells in memory of the victims. new details following the death of charles manson. tmz says it has obtained a copy of the killer's will. manson left his body and estate to a pen pal he had been in contact with since the 1990s. tmz did not name the pen pal in its report. the pen pal told tmz he first visited manson in prison in 2002, the same year the will was drafted. manson's body must be claimed ten days after his death, according to prison policy. the pen pal says he plans to do that. a manhunt has ended for a teenager from florida who is a person of interest until the dea in the death of his grandmother. he was arrested thousands of miles away from home while trying to cross the border to canada. >> reporter: overnight, a teenager suspected of killing his 53-year-old grandmother in his jacksonville home was caught. this photo is of him in his newly-shaved head. jacksonville sheriff's office confirmed that wanted 15-year-old logan mott is now in custody, after trying to enter canada in his grandmother's dodge dart. he had traveled a thousand miles to buffalo, new york where he tried to cross the border and was stopped by customs. mott was believed to be armed and dangerous. >> firearms were taken from the home on seagate. extreme caution should be taken. >> reporter: now police are seeking answers from logan, a person of interest in the death of his grandmother. his father returned to a ransacked home, firearms missing, and no sign of his son or his mother. police making a gruesome discovery as they searched the home for clues. >> the processing of the home on thursday revealed evidence of foul play, potential criminal violence inside. late in the day, a potential gravesite outside. >> reporter: the body believed to be grandmother christina french. logan's mother telling abc news in a statement, "no matter what, logan is our child and we love him and are standing by him to help in any way." abc news, washington. the magazines cot of the l.a. kings is accused of groping a man at the staples center. a lawsuit claims that bailey grabbed a man's butt in an elevator back in 2016. the alleged victim says he was working as a dishwasher at the staples center at the time. he claims he was fired after complaining to the hr director who happened to be the wife of the man in the costume. the kings released a statement saying an internal investigation last year found the claims did not have any merit. you've heard of the ugly christmas sweater. well, montreal, canada took it one step further and put up an ugly christmas tree. take a look at this installation downtown. the city is celebrating the tree's imperfections, highlighting the drooping tree top. people say it shows how perfectly imperfect nature can for rain. there will be breaks in this pattern, so it's not going to wash out your plans for the next several days. but we are looking at a 2 on the storm impact scale, coming in early tomorro. maybe you'll sleep through it, but we're looking at very breezy winds. then again monday morning. so there will be two pushes of rain. and with that, the totals will range from a half inch to an inch and a half. and winds will be quite gusty to 25 and 30 miles an hour. a live look outside right now, hazy sunshine from the golden gate bridge. you've managed some very mild numbers, and in fact today really much of the same. looking offshore with live doppler 7, you'll notice the cloud cover, most of this energy has been pushing up to the north. we'll see a fast moving cold front this time hours in the north bay. wet and windy for tomorrow morning. midday in the south bay. then it will change over to showers. the heaviest rain in the hills of the north bay, santa cruz mountains not looking at flood concerns. it will come down quickly in a couple of hours. then we'll look at more showers into monday. here is your hour by hour forecast. 5:00, it is raining in santa rosa. by 9:00 it's over the heart of the bay area. san francisco, i-80, emeryville, el cerrito. then into the 11:00, 12:00 hour, looking at san jose and scattered showers for the niners and the raiders. overnight,
