the end of next week, chris. >> lisa, thank you. terrifying moments off the coast of monterey county. a diver attacked by what's believed to be a great white shark. the attack happened yesterday in stillwater cove off pebble beach. the diver may owe his life to two first responders who happened to be in the right place at the right time. abc 7's cheryl jennings has the story. >> reporter: the diver was spear fishing with his father 80 yards off pebble beach when the shark bit his leg. >> he swam to the surface to tell his dad what he had seen and when he was at the surface, the shark actually attacked him. >> reporter: officials believed it was a great white based on the bite marks. the diver managed to get his boat back to shore. >> you see a boat in the water, the subject to the side of her, yelling about some type of shark bite. >> saw this red zodiac boat come in, kind of acting a little not right. >> reporter: at the same time, two off-duty monterey county sheriff's deputies happened to be finishing up a day of fishing at stillwater cove. witnesses alerted them. one deputy applied a tourniquet. >> the wet suit was inside the zodiac. it was pretty shredded, there was a lot of blood. >> reporter: an air unit spotted the shark. cal fire coordinated with deputies to evacuate the cove. a cal fire jet ski helped a swimmer back to the pier. warning signs have been posted. cheryl jennings, abc 7 news. >> the 25-year-old victim is undergoing treatment at a salinas hospital. there have been seven known shark attacks in the area since 1966. only one was fatal. that was an attack on a surfer in 1981 off spanish bay. abc 7 news has learned the san francisco police union has filed papers with the department of elections saying it will circle a petition for a june referendum. that referendum will determine a policy for the use of tasers. abc 7 news reporter vic lee has the story you'll see only on abc 7 news. >> we will let the citizens and the voters of this city decide this issue once and for all. >> reporter: police union president marty halloran says tasers have been debated by the police commission for eight long years. four police chiefs have asked for them. the fact that the commission finally voted for the use of tasers last month, halloran said, is not enough. >> what they voted on is the idea of officers carrying tasers. they did not vote on a policy. >> reporter: that's why on tuesday the poa filed notice with the office of elections that they will circulate petitions for a referendum on tasers for next june's elections. this proposed ordinance lists a policy that the poa believes will protect the officers and the public. halloran says it's not much different from a draft policy that the commission worked on in may. >> the policy that the commission put forward in may, that's almost the identical language that we're going to put forward to the voters. >> reporter: the commission hopes to have tasers in the hands of officers by december 2018 at the earliest. first, they would have to adopt a policy. commission president julius turman says that means hearing from all stakeholders including opponents. >> we need some time to look at all of those policies and come together on what the best policy would be. >> i'm afraid also that that policy will be tweaked to a point where it's no longer practical. >> reporter: if the police commission adopts a policy that's acceptable to the poa like last may's working draft policy, the group says it will drop its call for a referendum. vic lee, abc 7 news. business is expected to pick up in santa rosa today during small business saturday. store owners saw a much-needed boom on black friday as they recover from the north bay wildfires. abc 7 news reporter katie utehs has more. >> reporter: the holiday shopping runaround doesn't have to be hard. >> all the specialists are really well-trained, and we do give each individual just the service that they need. >> reporter: fleet feet in historic downtown santa rosa is looking forward to small business saturday when consumers shop local. >> we love to support local businesses, especially in this area, after everything that we've been through. >> reporter: the last month in and a half have been slow at bat cape comics and toys. but sales picked up on black friday. >> business is actually really good. since the fires hit, we kind of needed it. >> reporter: while some people look forward to cyber monday, mike holbrook says he doesn't sell on ebay or amazon. like other collectibles vendors. >> we like our locals to be able to see it and touch it. in the case of comic books, some people even like to smell them. >> reporter: from specialty sneakers to the toys you wish santa had brought you as a kid, it's all available locally. in santa rosa, katie utehs, abc 7 news. the city of oakland declared the start of plaid friday weekend to encourage people to start at local businesses. mayor libby shaff tweeted this picture of herself taking part. from now through this weekend, all street meters will be free on saturdays to encourage shopping. however time limits on meters will still apply. three, two, one -- [ cheering ] >> abc 7 news was in san francisco's union square for the 28th annual macy's tree lighting ceremony, last night hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the start of the holiday season. more than 43,000 l.e.d. lights and 700 ornaments decorate the tree. the ceremony featured choice, -- choirs, show tunes, and a visit from santa. san jose may have one-upped san francisco. christmas in the park set a guinness world record last night. and that's not all. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has that story from downtown san jose. >> three, two, one -- >> reporter: with that, the 32nd annual christmas in the park was officially under way. the giant centerpiece is one of 600 decorated trees in the park. that's 75 more than last year, and more than just an impressive number. according to executive director jason minsky. >> we're actually going to set the guinness book of world right side for most illuminated christmas trees in one location. >> go sa that's awesome. beautiful. >> that's nice, very nice. >> reporter: the forest of christmas trees is matched only by the crowds. an estimated 20,000 people came out on the first night. >> it's going great. lots of people. everyone has a positive attitude. the energy is great. i definitely will come back next year. >> the holidays, kids having fun, nice enjoyment. >> reporter: the holiday spirit will last longer than ever this year. christmas in the park is staying open an extra week to coincide with the u.s. figure skating championships at the s.a.p. center. that means more time for fun and the famous hot chocolate. >> i love the animations, and the hot chocolate is fantastic. >> reporter: but you had to come on the first night to catch this once in a lifetime moment, a surprise christmas in the park proposal. she said yes. in san jose, katie marzullo, abc 7 news. happening today, children can have a blast sliding at san rafael's winter wonderland. abc 7 news was at the event last year when more than 40 tons of snow was being hauled into downtown. today kids can sled down on a man made hill on a street between 9:00 and noon. there will also be activities like face painting and carnival rides. and lisa, they might not even need a jacket today for that. >> i know. 70 there yesterday. near that today. so once again, temperatures as much as 8 to 10 degrees above average. winds along with san rafael police and found out just how vulnerable shoppers can be. >> i'm sure we'll find something here fairly quickly. >> reporter: sergeant raoul aguilera was sure he would find a few cars with personal items and holiday packages inside. he found more than he was expecting. the owner of this car didn't even try to hide the gifts. >> definitely have -- oh, my. this one has macy's, apple. >> reporter: christmas gifts? >> christmas gifts, boots, uggs. it wouldn't take too long, somebody can use something like this, it's a window punch. this is something, you hit the window, and it will shatter immediately. >> reporter: we saw this man putting two large bags in the back seat of his car and walk away. we tried to tell him that it wasn't safe. you just left your bags in there. >> yeah. >> reporter: somebody could steal them. >> i just hide it. >> reporter: you hide it? >> yeah. >> reporter: but as we discovered, he had not hidden them at all. they were there for the taking. >> unfortunately that is very common. and that is not a very good strategy to protecting your shopping. the best thing to do would be to, you know, bring them with you. >> it's a very different world. even shopping is a very different world now. you have to be cautious all the time. that's what i try to do. i don't know how successful i am. but, you know, i've been lucky so far. >> reporter: from now through the holidays, san rafael police will have more patrols in places where people shop. >> we do spend extra patrol. we have extra officers in the area. >> reporter: we were able to confirm that when a woman interrupted our interview to report an unrelated incident. >> can you send a couple of units here? >> reporter: within minutes, several patrol cars responded. police are reminding valid https connection and a lock symbol. shopping may be all the rage on black friday. but some families in the east bay took a different approach, opting for greener pastures and a discount of a different kind. abc 7 news reporter laura anthony has the story. [ bell ringing ] >> reporter: forget black friday. these kids and their parents wanted none of it. instead, opting for green friday by visiting an east bay regional park, in this case tilden. >> we all decided to come out to tilden park instead of the madness of the malls. >> i wanted to be outside today, it's a beautiful day and i wanted to avoid the crowds, even though there's kind of a crowd here. >> reporter: as a gift to visitors, the east bay regional park district waived all parking fees along with those for fishing and pets. the parking fee on roberts recreational area on skyline is normally $5. >> it's such a great park, we thought it would be packed but we got great parking and for free on top of it. >> reporter: some people told us they didn't realize the parking in the parks was free until they got to the kiosks. >> it was pretty cool, i had the 20 ready to go even though it's five bucks to park here. >> reporter: even without the lure of free parking, some visitors told us they wouldn't be anywhere near a mall anyway. >> we have screaming kids, it's impossible to go to the mall. i wish i weren't here but i had to get stuck in this beautiful setting. >> reporter: in oakland, laura anthony, abc 7 news. a rescue rooster is learning to walk again with the help of as three wheelchair specifically made for the birds, as well as the support of a vacaville family. this is roo, he's been staying with the smith family in vacaville for a while. he was seriously hurt after a fight with another rooster. roo suffered swelling to his brain in the fight. unable to function on his own, his owner found a chicken therapy chair sold in australia and knew she had to get it to help roo recuperate. >> to move around in it, sit upright. he's eating a lot of food, drinking a lot of water. and it's just made all the difference in the world. >> smith's 12-year-old daughter is functioning as roo's physical therapist, taking him through basic movements in hopes he'll eventually be able to move on his own one day. this holiday weekend, the parking lots on each end of the golden gate bridge are shut down to traffic. the closures affect the welcome center parking lot at the south end and the vista point parking lot on the north end between 11:00 a.m. through 5:00 on sunday. officials are taking the measures to prevent traffic from backing up to the bridge. knowledge. visitors are encouraged to take public transit or use a ride sharing service such as lyft or uber. shoppers can find everything from clothing to home decor. hours are noon to 6:00 p.m. if you can't make it today, you'll have another chance to go tomorrow. more than 200 vendors will be there. now that thanksgiving is behind us, it's time to decorate for the holidays. if you're looking for a christmas tree, check out the boy scouts holiday tree lot in piedmont. today is the opening day for the tree lot on miraga avenue and red rock road. the boy scouts help families pick 1500 christmas trees each year. sales support scouting activities. the lot is open until december 21st or while supplies last. >> announcer: now, your accuweather forecast with lisa argen. >> good morning to you. we're waking up to some very mild temperatures, check it out right now. numbers are in the upper 50s to 60s. and another look at live doppler 7 with all the cloud cover around. it will be another day with a mix of clouds and sun. you see that comma-shaped figure well over into the distance? [ sirens ] >> reporter: a report of shots fired near a popular subway stop also creating panic on london's busiest shopping street. transport police tweeting, officers are responding to reports of an incident at oxford circus station. [ screaming ] >> reporter: on the ground, people fleeing. this woman reporting as she runs for cover. police responding as if the incident is terrorism. transportation officials urging people to avoid the area. heavily armed police officers could be seen checking oxford circus station and nearby stores. one person transported to a trauma center. 15 others suffering minor injuries. an hour after the incident, police giving the all clear. they're now looking for these two men they say may have had an altercation that sparked the scare. there's still no word on what caused the scare. but with four terror incidents in london this year alone, this city is on edge. jennifer eccleston, abc news, london. new details following the death of charles manson. tmz says it has obtained a copy of the killer's will. manson left his body and estate to a pen pal he had been in contact with since the 1990s. tmz did not name the pen pal in its report. the pen pal told tmz he first visited manson in prison in 2002, the same year the will was drafted. manson's body must be claimed ten days after his death, according to prison policy. the pen pal says he plans to do that. there are new allegations of harassment in hollywood and on capitol hill. in a fiery instagram post, actress uma thurman slammed movie producer harvey weinstein. >> reporter: uma thurman is hinting she's ready to tell her own me-too story, posting this photo from "kill bill," executive produced by harvey weinstein, writing, "happy thanksgiving, everyone, except you, harvey are and your wicked conspirators, i'm glad it's going slowly, you don't deserve a bullet." weeks earlier she became emotional on the red carpet when asked about the me-too movement. >> when i'm ready, i'll say what i have to say. >> reporter: meanwhile, on capitol hill, congressman john conyers is being asked to step down by fellow democratic congresswoman kathleen rice. she tells cnn taxpayers shouldn't pay to settle harassment cases. >> congress is facing an existential question right now. how are we going to answer that question? are we going to say yes, we are just like everyone else and we should be held accountable just like everyone else or are we going to continue to say that washington operates under its own set of rules? >> reporter: this comes in the wke of a third woman accusing conyers of misconduct. >> people shrug off members' misconduct on capitol hill. the kind of abuse i suffered at congressman conyers' hands was awful but i won't say it's unique. >> reporter: conyers vehemently denies the accusations and his lawyer says he isn't stepping down, writing in a statement, if people were required to resign over allegations, a lot of people would be out of work in this country, including the president. up to four women have accused senator al franken of inappropriate touching. he wrote, i'm a warm person, i hug people. i've learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters i crossed a line for some women and i know that any number is too many. franken says he plans to remain in the senate. abc news, washington. some shoppers on black friday elected to skip the small and the internet. instead they headed to a craft market where they say they can find unique gifts made by local artists. abc 7 news reporter david louie looks at the trend. >> reporter: while the aisles are packed, these shoppers are not the typical black friday crowd. they're at the san jose harvest festival where craftspeople are showing off their work. >> you can go to the gap, all the different places and find the same things all the time. we're here now and looking at these candles that are 100% soy made. i've never seen these in the stores. >> reporter: the personal interaction between the maker and the customer creates a bond. >> it's ginger. i'm a big fan of ginger. >> i'll have that too. >> reporter: artist naomi van doren says she enjoys explaining her prints to customers which are inspired by her travels to new zealand and europe. >> my work is personal. having that one on one with the person is what i value in selling my work. >> reporter: one of the things that the craftspeople and artists have in common here with their counterparts at the mall is that they do the majority of their business in the final three months of the year. so this show is extremely important. some of the artists juggle full-time jobs and do crafts what night. others make it their full-time business. shopping bags filled up quickly. >> we do this as a family tradition. my mom and my daughter come here every year. every -- i think the last six or seven years, we've done it. >> reporter: chris rugalla is hoping his success inspires others. >> i'm looking to inspire the next one of the cooler spots as well as gilroy at 50. santa rosa and napa, a little fog in santa rosa. 62 in concord. and another day of temperatures in the 70s. another beautiful shot from our roof camera, our exploratorium camera i should say. we'll see more of those clouds again. this morning, you were he wiupp wind has been gusting. this is the system that's going to come in tomorrow and bring us brief heavy rain. it's a quick mover, 76 yesterday going for a high today in the lower 70s. it will be dry and mild with the clouds around today. but the rain will head into the north bay late, probably 3, 4:00 tomorrow morning. then we're looking at a wet and windy sunday with showers lingering into monday morning. in fact it's going to be quite stormy in the hills, up to 2 inches there. because it's a quick mover, we're hoping to not have flooding concerns where we had the fires. then we'll look for the rain to taper. a 2 on our storm impact scale. this is a pretty decent one with over two inches in the hills. most of you will see anywhere from 3/4 inch to just over an inch. the southwesterly winds will be gusting tomorrow. this time tomorrow, check out the heavy rain from santa rosa pushing through the bay area by 7:30, 8:00, through the heart of the bay. by 11 clock :30, pushing throug south bay. by monday morning for the commute, most of the heavy rain will be through. but that's a second impulse. by 6:00, you can see scattered showers in the south bay. rainfall amounts, well, looking pretty impressive, anywhere from a half inch to an inch with this forecast model. and we will be looking at highs today under partly to mostly cloudy skies. upper 60s coast, 68 in san rafael. looking more 70s for our inland valley, san jose and morgan hill. the end of next week, chris. >> lisa, thank you. terrifying moments off the coast of monterey county. a diver attacked by what's believed to be a great white shark. the attack happened yesterday in stillwater cove off pebble beach. the diver may owe his life to two first responders who happened to be in the right place at the right time. abc 7's cheryl jennings has the story. >> reporter: the diver was spear fishing with his father 80 yards off pebble beach when the shark bit his leg. >> he swam to the surface to tell his dad what he had seen and when he was at the surface, the shark actually attacked him. >> reporter: officials believed it was a great white based on the bite marks. the diver managed to get his boat back to shore. >> you see a boat in the water, the subject to the side of her, yelling about some type of shark bite. >> saw this red zodiac boat come in, kind of acting a little not right. >> reporter: at the same time, two off-duty monterey county sheriff's deputies happened to be finishing up a day of fishing at stillwater cove. witnesses alerted them. one deputy applied a tourniquet. >> the wet suit was inside the zodiac. it was pretty shredded, there was a lot of blood. >> reporter: an air unit spotted the shark. cal fire coordinated with deputies to evacuate the cove. a cal fire jet ski helped a swimmer back to the pier. warning signs have been posted. cheryl jennings, abc 7 news. >> the 25-year-old victim is undergoing treatment at a salinas hospital. there have been seven known shark attacks in the area since 1966. only one was fatal. that was an attack on a surfer in 1981 off spanish bay. abc 7 news has learned the san francisco police union has filed papers with the department of elections saying it will circle a petition for a june referendum. that referendum will determine a policy for the use of tasers. abc 7 news reporter vic lee has the story you'll see only on abc 7 news. >> we will let the citizens and the voters of this city decide this issue once and for all. >> reporter: police union president marty halloran says tasers have been debated by the police commission for eight long years. four police chiefs have asked for them. the fact that the commission finally voted for the use of tasers last month, halloran said, is not enough. >> what they voted on is the idea of officers carrying tasers. they did not vote on a policy. >> reporter: that's why on tuesday the poa filed notice with the office of elections that they will circulate petitions for a referendum on tasers for next june's elections. this proposed ordinance lists a policy that the poa believes will protect the officers and the public. halloran says it's not much different from a draft policy that the commission worked on in may. >> the policy that the commission put forward in may, that's almost the identical language that we're going to put forward to the voters. >> reporter: the commission hopes to have tasers in the hands of officers by december 2018 at the earliest. first, they would have to adopt a policy. commission president julius turman says that means hearing from all stakeholders including opponents. >> we need some time to look at all of those policies and come together on what the best policy would be. >> i'm afraid also that that policy will be tweaked to a point where it's no longer practical. >> reporter: if the police commission adopts a policy that's acceptable to the poa like last may's working draft policy, the group says it will drop its call for a referendum. vic lee, abc 7 news. business is expected to pick up in santa rosa today during small business saturday. store owners saw a much-needed boom on black friday as they recover from the north bay wildfires. abc 7 news reporter katie utehs has more. >> reporter: the holiday shopping runaround doesn't have to be hard. >> all the specialists are really well-trained, and we do give each individual just the service that they need. >> reporter: fleet feet in historic downtown santa rosa is looking forward to small business saturday when consumers shop local. >> we love to support local businesses, especially in this area, after everything that we've been through. >> reporter: the last month in and a half have been slow at bat cape comics and toys. but sales picked up on black friday. >> business is actually really good. since the fires hit, we kind of needed it. >> reporter: while some people look forward to cyber monday, mike holbrook says he doesn't sell on ebay or amazon. like other collectibles vendors. >> we like our locals to be able to see it and touch it. in the case of comic books, some people even like to smell them. >> reporter: from specialty sneakers to the toys you wish santa had brought you as a kid, it's all available locally. in santa rosa, katie utehs, abc 7 news. the city of oakland declared the start of plaid friday weekend to encourage people to start at local businesses. mayor libby shaff tweeted this picture of herself taking part. from now through this weekend, all street meters will be free on saturdays to encourage shopping. however time limits on meters will still apply. three, two, one -- [ cheering ] >> abc 7 news was in san francisco's union square for the 28th annual macy's tree lighting ceremony, last night hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the start of the holiday season. more than 43,000 l.e.d. lights and 700 ornaments decorate the tree. the ceremony featured choice, -- choirs, show tunes, and a visit from santa. san jose may have one-upped san francisco. christmas in the park set a guinness world record last night. and that's not all. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has that story from downtown san jose. >> three, two, one -- >> reporter: with that, the 32nd annual christmas in the park was officially under way. the giant centerpiece is one of 600 decorated trees in the park. that's 75 more than last year, and more than just an impressive number. according to executive director jason minsky. >> we're actually going to set the guinness book of world right side for most illuminated christmas trees in one location. >> go sa that's awesome. beautiful. >> that's nice, very nice. >> reporter: the forest of christmas trees is matched only by the crowds. an estimated 20,000 people came out on the first night. >> it's going great. lots of people. everyone has a positive attitude. the energy is great. i definitely will come back next year. >> the holidays, kids having fun, nice enjoyment. >> reporter: the holiday spirit will last longer than ever this year. christmas in the park is staying open an extra week to coincide with the u.s. figure skating championships at the s.a.p. center. that means more time for fun and the famous hot chocolate. >> i love the animations, and the hot chocolate is fantastic. >> reporter: but you had to come on the first night to catch this once in a lifetime moment, a surprise christmas in the park proposal. she said yes. in san jose, katie marzullo, abc 7 news. happening today, children can have a blast sliding at san rafael's winter wonderland. abc 7 news was at the event last year when more than 40 tons of snow was being hauled into downtown. today kids can sled down on a man made hill on a street between 9:00 and noon. there will also be activities like face painting and carnival rides. and lisa, they might not even need a jacket today for that. >> i know. 70 there yesterday. near that today. so once again, temperatures as much as 8 to 10 degrees above average. winds are blowing in the upper elevations. it's mild once again but not as mild as it's been. but still probably have the windows open. emeryville we're looking at right now. boy, we'll see heavy rain this sales on black friday rose more than 18% to $640 million from a year ago. but for shoppers in brick and mortar stores, it's also a prime time for thieves. abc 7 news reporter lyanne melendez rode along with san rafael police and found out just how vulnerable shoppers can be. >> i'm sure we'll find something here fairly quickly. >> reporter: sergeant raoul aguilera was sure he would find a few cars with personal items and holiday packages inside. he found more than he was expecting. the owner of this car didn't even try to hide the gifts. >> definitely have -- oh, my. this one has macy's, apple. >> reporter: christmas gifts? >> christmas gifts, boots, uggs. it wouldn't take too long, somebody can use something like this, it's a window punch. this is something, you hit the window, and it will shatter immediately. >> reporter: we saw this man putting two large bags in the back seat of his car and walk away. we tried to tell him that it wasn't safe. you just left your bags in there. >> yeah. >> reporter: somebody could steal them. >> i just hide it. >> reporter: you hide it? >> yeah. >> reporter: but as we discovered, he had not hidden them at all. they were there for the taking. >> unfortunately that is very common. and that is not a very good strategy to protecting your shopping. the best thing to do would be to, you know, bring them with you. >> it's a very different world. even shopping is a very different world now. you have to be cautious all the time. that's what i try to do. i don't know how successful i am. but, you know, i've been lucky so far. >> reporter: from now through the holidays, san rafael police will have more patrols in places where people shop. >> we do spend extra patrol. we have extra officers in the area. >> reporter: we were able to confirm that when a woman interrupted our interview to report an unrelated incident. >> can you send a couple of units here? >> reporter: within minutes, several patrol cars responded. police are reminding scammers. be especially careful when shopping on a mobile browser, because fake apps and websites could be harder to detect. also avoid clicking on any unolicited e-mails and use only websites with a valid https connection and a lock symbol. shopping may be all the rage on black friday. but some families in the east bay took a different approach, opting for greener pastures and a discount of a [ bell ringing ] >> reporter: forget black friday. these kids and their parents wanted none of it. instead, opting for green friday by visiting an east bay regional park, in this case tilden. >> we all decided to come out to tilden park instead of the madness of the malls. >> i wanted to be outside today, it's a beautiful day and i wanted to avoid the crowds, even though there's kind of a crowd here. >> reporter: as a gift to visitors, the east bay regional park district waived all parking fees along with those for fishing and pets. the parking fee on roberts recreational area on skyline is normally $5. >> it's such a great park, we thought it would be packed but we got great parking and for free on top of it. >> reporter: some people told us they didn't realize the parking in the parks was free until they got to the kiosks. >> it was pretty cool, i had the 20 ready to go even though it's five bucks to park here. >> reporter: even without the lure of free parking, some visitors told us they wouldn't be anywhere near a mall anyway. >> we have screaming kids, it's impossible to go to the mall. i wish i weren't here but i had to get stuck in this beautiful setting. >> reporter: in oakland, laura anthony, abc 7 news. a rescue rooster is learning to walk again with the help of as three wheelchair specifically made for the birds, as well as the support of a vacaville family. this is roo, he's been staying with the smith family in vacaville for a while. he was seriously hurt after a fight with another rooster. roo suffered swelling to his brain in the fight. unable to function on his own, his owner found a chicken therapy chair sold in australia and knew she had to get it to help roo recuperate. >> to move around in it, sit upright. he's eating a lot of food, drinking a lot of water. and it's just made all the difference in the world. >> smith's 12-year-old daughter is functioning as roo's physical therapist, taking him through basic movements in hopes he'll eventually be able to move on his own one day. this holiday weekend, the parking lots on each end of the golden gate bridge are shut down to traffic. the closures affect the welcome center parking lot at the south end and the vista point parking lot on the north end between 11:00 a.m. through 5:00 on sunday. officials are taking the measures to prevent traffic from backing up to the bridge. knowledge. visitors are encouraged to take public transit or use a ride sharing service such as lyft or uber. shoppers can find everything from clothing to home decor. hours are noon to 6:00 p.m. if you can't make it today, you'll have another chance to go tomorrow. more than 200 vendors will be there. now that thanksgiving is behind us, it's time to decorate for the holidays. if you're looking for a christmas tree, check out the boy scouts holiday tree lot in piedmont. today is the opening day for the tree lot on miraga avenue and red rock road. the boy scouts help families pick 1500 christmas trees each year. sales support scouting activities. the lot is open until december 21st or while supplies last. >> announcer: now, your accuweather forecast with lisa argen. >> good morning to you. we're waking up to some very mild temperatures, check it out right now. numbers are in the upper 50s to 60s. and another look at live doppler 7 with all the cloud cover around. it will be another day with a mix of clouds and sun. you see that comma-shaped figure well over into the distance? "star wars" droid bb-8 turned heads as it rolled into the performance center in oakland. the famed movie star was there to shoot a promo with the team to hype "star wars: the last jedi." a abc 7 and lucas film are owned by disney. still to come, a city on edge. what touched off this chaotic scene in central london and who police are looking for. plus the crowds come in san jose, and local artists couldn't be happier. well it's a perfect nespresso hold on a second.orge. mmm. ♪ [mel torme sings "comin' home baby"] hey there. want a lift? ♪ where are we going? no don't tell me. let me guess. ♪ have a nice ride. ♪ how far would you go for coffee that's a cup above? i brought you nespresso. nespresso. what else? >> announcer: good morning north bay. let's get up and get going. this is "abc 7 mornings." good morning, everyone, i'm chris nguyen. thanks for waking up with us. here's meteorologist lisa argen, tracking the conditions where you live. some rain on the way, hi, lisa. >> hey, chris, good morning to you. you can see the clouds behind me, the comma shape offshore, that's what's headed our way this time tomorrow. a strong and quick moving cold front. upper elevation winds, providing a shaky view of mt. tam. boy, is that pretty. the sun coming up at 7:00. it's 8:58 in san francisco and oakland. from our roof camera you can see the cooler numbers from 49 to fairfield. 62 in concord. 56 in napa. once again, temperatures well above average. we'll look for the 60s on the coast today. by noontime, how about mid-60s around the bay. upper 60s inland. by the afternoon we've got 70s once again overnight. it's going to be mild. the winds will kick up and we do have the 2 on our storm impact scale coming in tomorrow. it lingers through your monday morning commute and more rain by the end of the week, chris. >> lisa, thank you. the death toll is rising after a massacre at a mosque in egypt. at least 305 people were killed in what's being called the deadliest attack ever by extremists on civilians on the sinai peninsula. here is abc news senior foreign correspondent ian panel with the story. >> reporter: the worshippers inside, there was almost no hope of escape. most of the aftermath too gruesome to show. rows of victims draped on the floor of the place of worship. over 200 people, including children, slaughtered. militants setting off explosives, then spraying the congregation with bullets as they knelt and prayed. the attackers opening fire and reportedly shooting into the mosque from four off-road vehicles surrounding the building. one eyewitness tonight telling abc news, anyone who tried to flee was shot. there were reports that even ambulances that came to help the wounded were attacked. scores injured too. outside, a hospital overwhelmed as ambulances and civilians arrived with victims and distraught families gather for news. today's massacre the deadliest attack in a region plagued by the scourge of militant groups like isis. a 2011 new year's day bombing at a coptic christian church killed more than 20. and more than 200 died in 2015 when a russian passenger plane exploded after taking off from the sinai. that attack linked to isis. president trump calling egyptian president fattah el sisi, he condemned the attack on twitter, calling the attack cowardly, later mixing domestic priorities into the tragedy, tweeting, we have to get tougher and smarter than ever before, adding, need the wall, need the ban. ian panel, abc news, london. there was mass panic in central london after a report of gunfire near a busy tube station prompted a massive police response. hundreds of frightened people ran for safety near oxford circus yesterday. the incident revealing a nervous city on edge after a number of terror attacks. abc news reporter jennifer eccleston is in london. [ sirens ] >> reporter: a report of shots fired near a popular subway stop also creating panic on london's busiest shopping street. transport police tweeting, officers are responding to reports of an incident at oxford circus station. [ screaming ] >> reporter: on the ground, people fleeing. this woman reporting as she runs for cover. police responding as if the incident is terrorism. transportation officials urging people to avoid the area. heavily armed police officers could be seen checking oxford circus station and nearby stores. one person transported to a trauma center. 15 others suffering minor injuries. an hour after the incident, police giving the all clear. they're now looking for these two men they say may have had an altercation that sparked the scare. there's still no word on what caused the scare. but with four terror incidents in london this year alone, this city is on edge. jennifer eccleston, abc news, london. new details following the death of charles manson. tmz says it has obtained a copy of the killer's will. manson left his body and estate to a pen pal he had been in contact with since the 1990s. tmz did not name the pen pal in its report. the pen pal told tmz he first visited manson in prison in 2002, the same year the will was drafted. manson's body must be claimed ten days after his death, according to prison policy. the pen pal says he plans to do that. there are new allegations of harassment in hollywood and on capitol hill. in a fiery instagram post, actress uma thurman slammed movie producer harvey weinstein. >> reporter: uma thurman is hinting she's ready to tell her own me-too story, posting this photo from "kill bill," executive produced by harvey weinstein, writing, "happy thanksgiving, everyone, except you, harvey are and your wicked conspirators, i'm glad it's going slowly, you don't deserve a bullet." weeks earlier she became emotional on the red carpet when asked about the me-too movement. >> when i'm ready, i'll say what i have to say. >> reporter: meanwhile, on capitol hill, congressman john conyers is being asked to step down by fellow democratic congresswoman kathleen rice. she tells cnn taxpayers shouldn't pay to settle harassment cases. >> congress is facing an existential question right now. how are we going to answer that question? are we going to say yes, we are just like everyone else and we should be held accountable just like everyone else or are we going to continue to say that washington operates under its own set of rules? >> reporter: this comes in the wke of a third woman accusing conyers of misconduct. >> people shrug off members' misconduct on capitol hill. the kind of abuse i suffered at congressman conyers' hands was awful but i won't say it's unique. >> reporter: conyers vehemently denies the accusations and his lawyer says he isn't stepping down, writing in a statement, if people were required to resign over allegations, a lot of people would be out of work in this country, including the president. up to four women have accused senator al franken of inappropriate touching. he wrote, i'm a warm person, i hug people. i've learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters i crossed a line for some women and i know that any number is too many. franken says he plans to remain in the senate. abc news, washington. some shoppers on black friday elected to skip the small and the packed, these shoppers are not the typical black friday crowd. they're at the san jose harvest festival where craftspeople are showing off their work. >> you can go to the gap, all the different craftspeople and artists have in common here with their counterparts at the mall is that they do the majority of their business in the final three months of the year. so this show is extremely important. some of the artists juggle full-time jobs and do crafts what night. others make it their full-time business. shopping bags filled up quickly. >> we do this as a family tradition. my mom and my daughter come here every year. every -- i think the last six or seven years, we've done it. >> reporter: chris rugalla is hoping his success inspires others. >> i'm looking to inspire the next north and northeast winds. boy, we're looking at temperatures this morning. we were 64 at half moon bay. right now, 63. it is 58 in san francisco as well as oakland with low 50s mountain view. that's one of the cooler spots as well as gilroy at 50. santa rosa and napa, a little fog in santa rosa. 62 in concord. and another day of temperatures in the 70s. another beautiful shot from our roof camera, our exploratorium camera i should say. we'll see more of those clouds again. this morning, you were he wiupp wind has been gusting. this is the system that's going to come in tomorrow and bring us brief heavy rain. it's a quick mover, 76 yesterday going for a high today in the lower 70s. it will be dry and mild with the clouds around today. but the rain will head into the north bay late, probably 3, 4:00 tomorrow morning. then we're looking at a wet and windy sunday with showers lingering into monday morning. in fact it's going to be quite stormy in the hills, up to 2 inches there. because it's a quick mover, we're hoping to not have flooding concerns where we had the fires. then we'll look for the rain to taper. a 2 on our storm impact scale. this is a pretty decent one with over two inches in the hills. most of you will see anywhere from 3/4 inch to just over an inch. the southwesterly winds will be gusting tomorrow. this time tomorrow, check out the heavy rain from santa rosa pushing through the bay area by 7:30, 8:00, through the heart of the bay. by 11 clock :30, pushing throug south bay. by monday morning for the commute, most of the heavy rain will be through. but that's a second impulse. by 6:00, you can see scattered showers in the south bay. rainfall amounts, well, looking pretty impressive, anywhere from a half inch to an inch with this forecast model. and we will be looking at highs today under partly to mostly cloudy skies. upper 60s coast, 68 in san rafael. looking more 70s for our inland valley, san jose and morgan hill. stanford/notre dame game, don't even really need the jacket. the accuweather seven-day forecast featuring the rain, the brief, heavy rain tomorrow. maybe you'll sleep through it. lingering showers on
