Breaking news in Half Moon Bay where highway 1 is closed after a chp car hit and killed a pedestrian. It happened just outside of sams chowder house. Thanks for joining us. The chp officer who hit that pedestrian was traveling northbound on highway 1 when he struck the man right in front of sams chowder house. The pedestrian was a 74yearold filipino man from burlingame. A worker at sams chowder house and another bystander said the man was part of a wedding reception being celebrated at the chowder house tonight. Now, that man was rendered aid by the Fire Department but he did die here at the scene. This happened at 8 24 p. M. A portion of highway 1 has been closed since a few minutes after the accident. Highway 1 is expected to remain closed for at least four more hours, as San Mateo Sheriffs Department continues to route cars along different side streets. But highway 1 is closed between cap i strano road and coronado street. The officer involved in the accident was taken back to the station and Vallejo Police will take over the investigation. It is still very busy out here. So if you have to travel through this area, be wary of the road closures. Again, a 74yearold pedestrian was struck and killed by a chp vehicle earlier this evening. I stressed on them the importance of respecting our flag. But if they wanted to do something to show some kind of unity and solidarity, i was all for it.
