It was announced last night, enforced throughout these overnight hours. The police chief of houston has said anyone who violates the kerr view will be stopped, questioned, searched, and arrested. Houstons District Attorney says convicted looters face stiffer penalties during a crisis, anywhere from five years to life in prison. The people who are leaving here from the Salvation Army this morning are going to be gone for about two weeks. Different kinds of help are needed. The three people, captain john kelly, captain randy clark, and major sheryl clark are from the hayward and antioch corps. Theyll head to texas to provide emotional and spiritual care where disaster teams are located. The three are familiar with working in emergency disaster areas. Its just incredible, and sometimes the only thing you can do is give them a hug and let them cry on your shoulder or listen to them. The Salvation Army has more than 50 mobile kitchens to texas. Since Hurricane Harvey hit, volunteers from livermorebased wings of rescue have been helping to clear animal shelters from central and south texas to louisiana. The pets were flying out, these are dogs and cats that no one is coming for. They have been in the shelter system. They dont have homes. The charitys founder, cindy smith, a pilot herself, says more than 200 dogs and dozens of cats are getting a Second Chance with rescue organizations across the country. New this morning, a fear that four men who volunteered to rescue harvey flood victims have now become missing themselves. They have not been seen since monday afternoon. In fact, the wife of one of those missing men says they jumped into the water to avoid electrocution. Seven volunteers were on a small boat in the greens bayou area. I want to note this is not particularly video of that area or of these rescuers, but this is the type of situation theyre dealing with, the flooded streets and roadways. The wife told reporters that those men were trying to avoid hitting a power pole, an electrical pole, and three of the seven men on the boat were found yesterday morning clinging to some nearby trees. Right now, those other men are not have not been found. The three men who were indeed rescued, they are hospitalized, and theyre also being treated for burns.
