and they're working. tonight why brokers are pulling out all the stops to move this mansion off their market. >> but first, the "nightline" five. >> one pill each morning. 24 hours, zero heartburn. >> when a single patch created the category of pain relief. now 80 years later, a complete family of pain relievers. perfect for back, muscle, joint pain. number one in just 60 seconds. good evening. thank you for joining us. tonight, a new firestorm surrounds bill cosby. but this time it's because of his own word and not the accusations of others. cosby's confessions about drugs, sex and young women in newly released documents are eye opening and leaving many feeling betrayed. here's abc's linzie davis. >> reporter: it is a bomb shell 1,000 page deposition. in it bill kzcosby describes the sexual relationship he had with andrea constand. >> i don't hear her say anything and i continue and go to the area stom whereome where between permission. romantic evening dinner by the fireplace, complete with cognac. i walk her out. she does not say do not do that ever again. the sweeping deposition in a four day period at a philadelphia hotel in 2005. describes cosby's sexual encounters with five women fueling an exploding scandal involving more than two dozen women alleging abuse. >> he flipped me over and sexually assaulted me. >> his behavior was like that of a predator. >> reporter: his testimony published this weekend was part of constand's lawsuit, she accused cosby of drugging and molesting her, inside his home while she was employed at temple university. in it he says i am a pretty decent reader of people and emotions in romantic sexual things whatever you want to call them. in the deposition cosby's demeanor apeeing allpearing casual. i think you're making light of a very serious situation. cosby replying that may very well be. >> what we got to see in the deposition his attitudes towards the whole thing. he was chaz tiesed by opposing counsel for not treating it seriously. that's what's really going to hurt him. >> reporter: never charged with sexual assault in any of the alleged incidents, cosby settled the constand case out of court. he did so to avoid embarrassment to himself and his family. two months ago i sat down with him for an exclusive interview where he refused to address the allegations directly. >> it's interesting. this is a situation that its unprecedented. my family my friends, i have been in this business 52 years and i will -- i have never seen anything like this. and reality is the situation. and i -- i can't speak. >> reporter: in a deposition cosby admits to obtaining drugs to provide to young women. the attorney asks when you got the quaaludes was it in your mind you would use these quaaludes for young women you wanted to have sex with? cosby answers yes. cosby stated he never took drugs or drank alcohol himself during the encounters adding he would offer the quaaludes to others the same as a person would say have a drink. cosby denies he ever gave drugs to women without their consent. tonight linda kirkpatrick who in january came forward to accuse cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her in the '80s is speaking out. >> i didn't want sex with him, about him, around him. >> reporter: kirkpatrick was not mentioned in the deposition but she feels this is her i told you so moment. >> he was making a mockery of the whole situation. in my opinion being coached on the sideline what to say and huh to say it. >> his futile efforts to hide his own testimony from the public have been unsuccessful. now the truth is out. and he is never going to be able to keep this secret anymore. >> reporter: gloria allred represents 17 cosby accusers and a pending civil suit against cosby. >> we're interested in having him tell the whole truth. i don't intend to stop until we get it. >> reporter: quite a fall from grace for the man once known as america's favorite dad. a nickname he earned playing the lovable father on "the cosby show." >> my lips are sealed. >> mine too. >> reporter: his wholesome public persona translating into a famous endorsement deal with jello. >> mom, you know how the kids love jello pudding. >> reporter: philanthropist and strong advocate of civil rights. but this squeaky clean image was quickly shattered as the sexual assault allegations came pouring in. >> bill cosby was probably the most important african-american person on tv in his day. along the way he did a lot of good things. all that is for naught now. you realize that the emperor has no clothes and what bill cosby says and what bill cosby does have absolutely no correlation. there is no morality in this man. and so he can no longer make moral positions. >> reporter: at the height of his wealth and fame the document paints portrait of an intensely private man who demanded his support staff sign confidentiality agreements. he also describes things like this collection of at least 100 sweat pants. cosby admits to offering some of the women career advice in pursuit of sex. concealing payments through his agent. even asking one of the alleged victims questions about her father's death from cancer to get close to her. the storm of controversy has led to public scorn for the comedian. cosby now the butt of the joke even at golden globes. >> and into the woods. cinderella runs from her prince rapunzel thrown from a tower, and sleeping beauty just thought she was getting the coffee from bill cosby. >> i put the pills in the people. the people did not want the pills in them. >> reporter: now some are calling to revoke cosby's medal of freedom. president obama responded without naming the comedian. >> if you give a woman or a man for that matter without his or her knowledge a drug and then have sex with that person without consent that's rape. i think this country, any civilized country should have no tolerance for rape. >> reporter: as the controversy picks up steam even old friends like whoopi goldberg. >> all of the information that is out there kind of points to guilt. >> reporter: are rethinking their support. >> it looks bad, bill. either speak up or shut up. because people people know now that there is a lot more out there than they thought. >> reporter: cosby denied our request for an interview but one of his lawyers told the philadelphia enquirer that the release of the deposition is a violation of the confidentiality agreement adding how that deposition became public without being court sanctioned is something we are going to pursue and deal with very vigorously. >> there is no way to restore his legacy. you can't separate his achievements from his dastardly acts at this point. it's a true lack of morality. and he will take that to the grave. >> reporter: for "nightline," i'm lindsay davis in philadelphia. next a shark attack in waters where they're known to grow up to 17 feet long. and how this pro surfer survived. ♪ it's my house ♪ >> plus would you spend $100,000 to sell a house? [ bleep ]. >> okay. >> that was a close call. >> reporter: here dicky shavelle fends off hungry sharks. when the door of the cage won't close. >> couple of close calls. small sharks! >> i recently went diving with sharks in the bahamas to learn how to survive an attack. it seems mick fanning did exactly the right thing. >> if they come in and it becomes an attack you are going to have to strike them. my guard is special forces operator terry shafford. >> you will hit them. they went like it. in the eyes. the gills. the nose the snout. >> exactly, this is where all their stuff is concentrated. >> reporter: in the middle of a sharknado of reef sharks. less aggressive and less lethal than great whites. >> become to back. linked arms. now we have each other for protection. >> on top of the water, thrashing. >> as with fanning, floating on the surface is often the most dangerous place for humans. flapping hands and feet look like food to sharks. with fish parts in the water the sharks are in a frenzy and it is a fight to keep them off. >> the best thing for me right now is -- fending them off with my feet. kind of like that one. >> yeah. >> you do the best you can to keep them off of you. >> let's get in. >> all right. >> or out. >> somehow perfectly fine. >> reporter: back in south africa fanning is clearly shaken by his close call. >> it's his -- kicking in -- it's just -- tripping out. >> reporter: sunday's competition was called off early. a relief for fanning who says it could be his last. >> i'm happy to not ever compete again. like seriously like to walk away from that just -- just high stakes. >> reporter: today with the ordeal behind him fanning posted this photograph on instagram, hugging friend julian wilson saying jeffrey's bay is an incredible place and i will go back one day. >> are you okay?
