Dec 30, 2020 Justice Minnet Hafiz-Bertram Justice Minnet Hafiz-Bertram has been elevated to Acting President of the Belize Court of Appeal. Earlier today, during a virtual swearing-in, the high court judge was administered the oath of office by Governor General Sir Colville Young. Justice Hafiz-Bertram will remain in that capacity until further notice from the prime minister who will advise the G.G. of his appointee after meeting with Opposition Leader Patrick Faber. Justice Hafiz-Bertram is originally from Guyana and took her seat on the bench of the Court of Appeal in 2013. Her swearing-in was witnessed by Attorney General Magali Marin-Young.
