A Bloomington man who pleaded guilty to murdering his wife and then shooting his neighbors was sentenced Monday to nearly 50 years in prison, with the final stretch of the term on supervised released.
Jason M. Mesich, 48, pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of his wife, 47-year-old Angela Mesich, on Aug. 30, 2020. He then admitted to attempting to kill his neighbors, a 29-year-old woman and her 12-year-old sister.
Hennepin County District Judge hilary Caligiuri sentences Mesich to 48 years. The Star Tribune reports that he will serve around 32 years in prison, with the remaining time served on supervised release. He will be over 80 years old by the time he's out of prison.
