Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party leader Champai Soren took oath as the new chief minister of Jharkhand after being nominated by Governor C P Radhakrishnan. Soren has been urged to expedite the process of forming a new government due to the state's political crisis. He has been granted a 10-day period to prove the majority of his government, as confirmed by state Congress chief Rajesh Thakur.
