Downs went 3-for-4 with his first Triple-A home run, a double, single, stolen base, three RBI and two runs scored in the WooSox’ 10-5 win over the Syracuse Mets Saturday in Worcester. “He’s just an ultra-talented player, and it was only a matter of time,” WooSox pitching coach Paul Abbott said of Downs. “He came in there and got a good pitch, and it was a matter of time. He’s been working hard with our coaches. Nobody is exempt from thinking too much when you start to struggle, he just needs to get comfortable and get his mind right, and we’ll see some things that we’re excited to see from him.”
