“I have a pit in my stomach right now,” Vondette Wilcox said. “That’s right near my home.”
Her daughter, Christina Smith, 32, had just dropped off her son for a Florida trip on Feb. 8, 2018, when she was struck and killed while trying to stop the theft of a pickup truck she was driving near Vancouver Street and Moffatt Avenue.
