Priceless vases in tribute to Irvine’s fallen Second World War heroes have been confirmed safe after the Old Parish Church was raided last week. Residents expressed their disgust at the shocking incident after the vestry of the church building was ransacked last Friday night. However, the church were delighted to advise this week that the vases have now been found safe and sound and offered their sincere thanks to everyone for offering their support. Irvine West Conservative Cllr Scott Gallacher said: “This is an absolutely sickening incident. It is particularly galling to those of us who are members of the Old Parish, that at a point in time when we ourselves are not allowed inside to worship as a result of lockdown rules, there are degenerates breaking into the building, trashing the vestry, and stealing irreplaceable items from us.
