DEERFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT By ZACK DeLUCA SOUTH DEERFIELD — After being rescued Sunday by a Deerfield police officer, veterinarians and a local resident with a “trusty net,” an injured bobcat is on its way to recovering and returning to the wild. Deerfield police Officer Mark Puchalski took a report of an injured bobcat next to the driveway of Tree House Brewery at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Once on the scene, he met with two staff members from the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital, right across Routes 5 and 10 from where the animal was found, and noticed the young bobcat had an injured rear leg.
