A 6.8 magnitude earthquake jolted the Talaud Islands in Indonesia on Thursday, reports said. According to European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), The Independent reported, the quake occurred in the sea at a depth of 122 km.
The EMSC had earlier said that quake was measured at 7.2 on the Richter scale. A witness was quoted as saying, "[The quake was] lengthy, shaking and gradually intensifying."
There were no reports of loss of life so far.
Just a few days back, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck West Sulawesi, Indonesia killing 96 people and displacing over 70,000.
