Idaho wants to study the impacts of 'harmful' library books

Idaho creates working group to study “harmful” materials in libraries. In a resolution, the House said they believe “harmful” materials contribute to juvenile crime and damage “the ethical and moral development of our youth.” The Legislature tried to pass a bill earlier this month that would have punished librarians who check out “harmful materials” to minors with a fine of $1,000 and up to a year in jail.
