Police: remains found in Cape Girardeau identified as dog remains

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Remains found on Friday in Cape Girardeau were actually from a dog, not a human.
On Friday, April 30 around 6:50 p.m., police were dispatched to Giboney and Willow for a report of human remains discarded in the area.
When officers arrived, they found what appeared to be human bones, tissue and hair in a state of extreme decomposition, as well as a skull tied in a plastic bag.
They said the remains were in a a nylon suitcase and appeared to be left for discovery.
