Huge increase in Qatari vegetablesâ sales during 2020 Compared to previous years, the Premium Qatari Vegetables and Qatar Farms programmes have achieved significant sales during the year 2020. The sales of Premium Qatari Vegetables reached 4,565 tons compared to 2,740 tons in 2019, an increase of about 66%. The sales of Qatar Farms for the 2020 season were about 19,000 tons compared to 11,506 tons in 2019, an increase of about 64%. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment launched these programmes in co-operation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Their goals was to improve local marketing operations and help the farmers market their produce, helping Qatari farmers to display their local production of high-quality vegetables with affordable prices for the consumer without an intermediary, nor paying the farmer any financial commissions in return.
