Howth Coast Guard Rescue Dog at Bull Island By Mike Gilmore The Irish Coast Guard responded to a call of an animal in distress in the water near Bull Island. Poppy the dog was spotted in difficulty in the water, leading members of the public to try and rescue her themselves. Upon arrival at the scene, Coast Guard units pressed the public to leave the water so they could attempt the rescue. The Coast Guard successfully retrieved the distressed doggo from the estuary and reunited her with her owners. The emergency services are encouraging anybody who sees an animal in distress in the water to call 112/999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
