How to make your old clothes look new without spending a penny
A fancy top, comfy bottoms and a dash of bling always works

Before Zoom Dressing, this was known quite simply as jeans and a nice top. The kind of outfit I used to wear all the time as a fashion editor in the late 1990s, particularly if I had an event to go to after work. Party on the top half, practical on the bottom. Quick spritz of scent after logging off and away you go.
I’ve always liked the mash-up of day and evening wear; the high-low combination that comes from marrying the old with the new, rough with smooth, dazzling with everyday. Quintessentially demonstrated by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City in her mix of vintage, modern and Manolos; then usurped in the 2000s by Queen of the Mismatch Jenna Lyons, the former J.Crew creative director who blended sequins with Breton stripes, a pink satin evening skirt with a khaki utility jacket and leopard print with just about everything.
