Australia's most infamous serial killer died alone in jail wearing an adult nappy, depressed, unable to swallow, and riddled with cancer. Ivan Milat, who was convicted of seven murders in the 1990s, died aged 74 in the hospital wing of Sydney's Long Bay Correctional Centre on October 27, 2019. He was diagnosed with terminal stomach and throat cancer, but refused treatment on several occasions, which prolonged his suffering and shortened his life. He was wearing the incontinence garment under his prison greens and had minimal personal belongings when he died.
