Noosa police officer Sergeant Neil Ashley said there were a number of precautions families could take to keep their home and contents safe. He said when offenders entered a house they would generally be looking for simple things to steal like car keys, money and jewellery. By locking up your valuable items sand making a record of them it makes it that much harder for the crooks. "Even if you take a photograph or jot down the serial numbers, if we can track the property we can prove it was stolen," Sgt Ashley said.
