"Currently, we have slightly more than 8,000 infections," said Niedzielski, adding there are grounds to believe that "the third wave should be a bit smaller." The minister expected the pandemic to peak in the next three to four weeks. However, he told Polish Radio One that this scenario may prove to be erroneous due to the appearance of new variants of the coronavirus. He referred to the Warmia-Masuria province, where "the dynamic increase in the incidence is caused by a mutation."
