Holloway was born in the small Limpopo town of Zebediela, where his father owned the local butchery. Two moves to Pretoria and Vrede followed before the family settled in Evaton after his fatherâs death. Holloway completed his schooling in Vereeniging, where he excelled at rugby, cricket and athletics.
