For as Helston Flora Day Association said: "It would not be May in Helston without flags." Association stewards and volunteers were busy over the weekend putting up the coloured bunting that usually adorns the town centre streets each Flora Day. This year's celebration was due to have taken place this Saturday, May 8, but for the second year running there will be no dancing and no crowds due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions. In a bid to still give the town something of that celebratory feel, to mark the arrival of spring and the coming summer months, the flags have been put up as usual however and some residents are still likely to decorate the outside of their houses as they would normally for the day's festivities.
