Watch: Sixteen houses were evacuated near Sumner today as another large fire spread out of control across the hills.
Another large scrub fire that broke out near Christchurch's Port Hills on Tuesday has been contained.
Emergency services were called to the blaze on Galilee Lane in the Clifton area around 11:30am on Tuesday.
Sixteen houses around Revelation Drive, Bay View Road and Galilee Lane were evacuated as a precaution.   
FENZ says around a dozen fire appliances attended the fire, along with ground crews and four helicopters.
