Heat Treatments Tune Microstructure of Selective Laser Melted Alloys

In a preproof study from the journal Surface and Coatings Technology, researchers developed two heat treatment methods to tune the microstructure of selective laser melted Ti-5Al-5Mo-5V-3Cr-1Zr (Ti-55531) alloy, i.e., aß phase region (aß-STA) and supertransus triplex heat treatment (Triplex-HT).
