Hayabusa2 capsule goes on public display for 1st time in Japan

SAGAMIHARA, Kanagawa -- The Hayabusa2 reentry capsule that delivered samples from the asteroid Ryugu to Earth last year went on public display for the first time on March 12 at Sagamihara City Museum in this east Japan city's Chuo Ward.
The capsule separated from Hayabusa2 last December and landed in a desert in southern Australia. It contained 5.4 grams of soil samples taken from the asteroid when the probe touched down twice.
