THE AMUSEMENT PARK — I love roller coasters. Visiting different amusement parks is one of my joys. I love trying different roller coasters and then riding them over and over again. However, my kids didn't get that from me. Every time we go to Lagoon, they spend most of their time telling me every ride they refuse to go on and then start crying if we get too close to some of the bigger rides, fearing I'll force them on one. I have failed as a father. Not because they don't want to ride, but because my reaction is absurd. I get all put out and mopey because I'm actually a giant child who whines when he doesn't get to ride the fun roller coasters. I'm working on it, people. My go-to response to my kids is usually along the lines of telling them engineers built these rides and they're safe. I tell them to look at all the people smiling when they get off the ride and how each one is in one piece and no one was hurt.
