The job fair was founded in honor of 20-year-old Mark Gould who was shot and killed at Pineview Apartments in 2018. "That's one of the reasons there's a huge community support," Moye said. "It was birthed out of the community's need for jobs. "Talking to school board members, talking to elected officials, the reason everyone is supportive of this job fair is because when people have a job, the kids perform better in school. At least they go to school." And, he believes, it helps keep crime down. "We've seen the real benefits of this job fair," Moye said.
