ELLSWORTH — A possible prowler in Surry turned out to be animals eating from bushes against the residence, which made sounds as though someone was there, Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo reported. Gionfriddo checked the residence on Feb. 17 and found numerous animal tracks but no human footprints. “The complainant was thankful for the response,” the deputy said. Citizen assists A woman walked away from an assisted living facility in Hancock Feb. 15 and the staff was concerned about her well-being due to the cold temperatures and impending inclement weather. Gionfriddo located the woman, who didn’t want to return to the facility and asked for an ambulance to get to a hospital.
