The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, has said that his government will explore the possibility of making parental approval mandatory for love marriages if it is permitted by the constitution. He made this announcement in response to a demand by some members of the Patidar community that consent from parents should be obligatory in love marriages.
