National Informatics Center has created a software for online registration for organizing marriage functions which has been activated on Digital Gujarat Portal. M AIR Correspondent reports, after witnessing large scale wedding functions in the State recently, Gujarat government has decided to give online permission for holding such marriage functions. According to official sources, online registration on www.digitalgujarat.gov.in is compulsory for holding any marriage function in the State. After applying online, applicants will need to take a printout of the registration slip or save it as a PDF file. If police or someone from local administration seek, an applicant will need to produce such a printout or PDF file. This decision has been taken in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation. As per the COVID-19 guidelines, the maximum 100 persons are allowed in marriage functions or wedding reception.
