A real estate developer based in Pennsylvania recently broke ground on a 300,240-square-foot distribution center in Kings Mountain near Interstate 85. Dubbed the Carolina 85 Logistics Center, Equus Capital Partners hopes to lease the Gaston County warehouse - located near the intersection of Woodlake Parkway and Canterbury Road and exits 8 and 10 along I-85 - to one or multiple tenants. As the Charlotte area I-85 corridor continues to attract businesses, Equus leaders believe the center will benefit large distributors that want to expand into a region with a rapidly growing population. The future logistics center’s proximity to Charlotte Douglas International Airport and the Norfolk Southern Intermodal hub also makes it an ideal distribution hub.
