Greer, Greenville officials discuss construction noise during meetings

The city will handle those violations through building permits, with the issuance of a stop work order.
Meanwhile, the Greenville City Council is considering adjusting its noise ordinance, reducing weekend construction hours by four hours.
Judy Albert, who represents District 6 on the Greer City Council, an area that includes Riverside High School and a host of subdivisions in progress, asked the council to discuss the issue.
She told the council during a previous meeting that she'd gotten a call from homeowner in Sudduth Farms, where single-family and townhouses are being built, complaining about construction starting at 6 a.m.
The same homeowner had also called about construction starting at 5 a.m., Albert said, and whatever the workers were doing required light.
