Published January 6, 2021, 1:52 PM CASIGURAN, Aurora – A weak and exhausted migratory bird was found by local residents on a marshy river in Barangay Masgana in the northernmost town of Dilasag, Aurora, the community office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) here reported on Wednesday. A Great White Pelican ((Pelecanus Onocrotalus) was rescued by Francisco Calinog, Andy Ortiz and Francia Dasillo in Sitio Mahogany, Barangay Masagana who brought the bird to the DENR community office in Casiguran. Mercedita Bata, community environment and natural resources officer in northern Aurora, said that the bird could have been left behind by its flock while it was on migration.
