Govt committed to welfare, protection of Indians abroad: EAM Jaishankar
New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Modi Government has been deeply committed to the welfare and protection of Indians abroad, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
Making a statement on recent developments pertaining to the welfare abroad of Indians, NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) in the Covid situation, the External Affairs Minister told the House that a huge collective effort by nameless and faceless individuals from Indian embassies and other organisations – in India and abroad - made that possible.
Informing that Air India operated more than 5,000 flights, 10.5 lakh passengers were brought back, Dr Jaishankar said.
